Review: First, the staff was so courteous and caring. Facilities, organising local sight seeing activities were well done and the English speaking guide was knowledgeable. Cabin was clean, spacious and comfortable. Above all delighted to have tasty Indian food for every session. Pick up and drop was very well organised through seamless communication. Thanks to staff Belle for this
Positive points: The cabins, common rooms and excursions were all wonderful. The food was superb and the service was outstanding.
Negative points: Nothing.
Review: A perfect stay for Our wedding anniversary. Definitely recommend the stay and experience.
Positive points: Room was fantastic and staff were great and very supportive. My wife became very ill late on the first day and they arranged a speed boat to take us off and get us back to shore. They did this quickly and efficiently.
Negative points: There was a large very noisy travel group that took over the ship. The manager moved various guests into another room but it did unsettle the other guests and their satisfaction.there was no travel around Ha Long Bay. We travelled from the harbour to a fixed point out amongst the island and then all the cruise ships anchored. Very cluttered.
Review: Amazing boat, with super amazing Indian food prearranged. Not once did we feel disappointed. The team took good care of everything.
Positive points:
Captain Deck is great , room prepare enough amenity. Room is same as picture.
All in all is great. And the cruise staff is very helping, passion and kind. We are 3D/2N guests. Schedule introductions is detail and even have a birthday cake at diner. It’s a lovely surprise!
Review: Paradise elegance cruise is worth the price with so many activities. As a vegetarian they provided delicious Indian veg food. Staff are great and courteous.
Positive points: Beautiful location, wish I had done the 2 nights. Very busy agenda, but staff very friendly and helpful. Watching the sun rise during Tai Chi on the su deck in the morning was a highlight.
Negative points: Would recommend booking independent transport. We used their van, bu5 return is a bit complicated as you have to wait. Other people went directly back to Hanoi, for less.
Review:
The staff was amazing, the food was good however, haveing same breakfast for 2 days wasn't the best thing , in addition that you have to pay for water and soft drinks for lunch and dinner after what you payed for the cruise i felt it a bit silly!!
Make sure when you book that they don't have a tour guide lady you will get annoyed at some point.
Positive points: Hot tub, 5 course meal exceptional.
Negative points: WiFi
Review: Everything is good!!
Positive points: Great staff, as a guest you feel really valued and taken care of. Even though our stay was short, we were extremely pleasant with the level of service quality. The dinner was amazing, really above expectations made by a chef.
Negative points: The drinks options were a bit limited. Not a really great selection of drinks
Review: The cruise icon the premium side but the staff made it amazing! We had an incredible Philippino butler who was the best!
Positive points:
The cruise ship is great medium sized vessel so not overwhelming or too crowded, small enough that one can interact with fellow passengers and large enough for one to also enjoy in private. The ship interior is tasteful, cabins, dining room, Piano lounge, and upper deck are aesthetically pleasing, well spaced out, and make for a comfortable space to stay in.
The Executive Suite we stayed in was well worth the extra spend for the larger room, balcony, and nicer bathroom.
The food served was overall pretty good. The lunch buffet had a decent spread, reasonable sushi and various Asian style fish, prawn, and chicken dishes. Dinner set menu was decent- the lobster was a little overcooked, the Australian beef steak was exquisite in terms of flavor and cook. Breakfast was fair, underwhelming selection of breads (sliced and crossaint) but they had a conveyor belt toaster and when you slid either of the two in there what came out was on point. One kind of cheese and cold cut meat, pretty basic. Eggs cooked to order fresh were great. The beverage selection included as part of either buffet was wanting one usually expects at least fresh juices and soft drinks to be included and only alcoholic beverages to be charged for.
The activities offered were pleasant and I suppose somewhat limited by Ha Long Bay as a location. Which brings us to Ha Long Bay itself. Kind of a mixed bag tbh- the topography and views were stunning and unique but super crowded. There’s far too many other boats and tourists to really enjoy the location. More tourists of course means more trash in the water, crowded beach / swimming point, etc. which is quite off-putting.
Timing your visit is also quite important. We visited in the first week of April and it was a bit cloudy and windy so we didn’t get that crystal clear water we hoped for BUT we did get a chance to see the bioluminescent plankton at night which was a real treat.
Negative points:
I found the service at the property significantly wanting. Now to be fair I will clearly state the cruise manager informed me they were short staffed since two members of their staff took unscheduled absences and perhaps my experience was a bit off due to bad luck. In my opinion, that in itself shows a certain apathy on the part of the cruise’s management given they did not see fit to provide the manager additional temporary staff to manage the workload without compromising on guests’ experience.
When you have enough “small issues” (e.g. dishes at buffets not being replenished for over 10-12 minutes during meal times, not enough wait staff to serve drinks, requiring guests to walk up to the reception to ask for towels or more drinking water, the allegedly heated pool not being heated due to maintenance etc.) it does take away from the overall experience.
The cruise manager and assistant DID go out of their way to genuinely listen to my feedback and do whatever they could to make up for my somewhat mediocre experience and is probably why I’ve still rated the experience at an 8. If it hadn’t been for their sincere efforts in this regard I would likely have rated the stay significantly lower.
Review: The whole experience was awesome. The staff were very helpful and treated us with utmost care. The cruise in itself is very luxurious.
Positive points: The cruise director and her staff were great. They made us feel so welcome and at home. The activities and tours were very organized. We were very impressed.
Review:
Overpriced for activities and food.
Trip to hop on to islands - it is too crowded.
Visit to pearl farm was on internet but was told this has been changed.
Positive points: The ship has an old elegance similar to what you would find at an old estate. Staff was wonderful and the food was way above average. Oh did I say the food was great?
Negative points: Nothing really.
Review: Offers the best experience of Halong Bay. Paradise Elegance Cruise serves you an elegant experience indeed!
Positive points: Everything is perfect!
Negative points: Nothing
