Le Journey Elegance Cruise

Positive points: The staff were all amazing, the views incredible, food delicious and the bed was AMAZING! We went on an excursion to a charming small village (with the option to ride a bike around the island) and some of us also went kayaking. There were other activities you could participate in as well - squid fishing at night, bamboo boat ride, etc. And there was karaoke at night and music. It’s was too cold for the pool, but there is a nice looking pool!

Positive points: Great travel experience, great value for money, clean rooms, delicious food, beautiful scenery, highly recommended. Standard trip 120 per person USD. Excellent experience, the room is clean. Food is nice, amazing tour guide, beautiful

Review: I had a great time at this cruise in Halong bay. The activities were fine, however for vegetarian preference people, the food options are limited.
Otherwise the stay was fine

Positive points: Our family, two adults and a 6 year old child shared one room and did the two days one night trip. We were very happy with the cruise. The guide Kong was excellent, he was informative, friendly and made sure to check on the well being of all guests. The cruise itself was a good length of time to get a good look at Ha Long bay. The rooms were clean and the food on board was tasty.

Review: Address in agoda is different, as i didn't take its transfer, i got to translate with difficulty to another driver who is bringing us to their new address during the meet up.

Staffs aee good, greet us with smile, Captain english is good so communicate clearly the plan.

The room is very big. I was given a connection room for a family of 4.

The program include squid fishing, cooking class, kayaking, bumper boat trip, But didn't see dark and light cave which it mention.
A bit disappointed didn't do enough homework, so this cruise didn't have the cave visit am expecting, just have bumper boat trip for a small entry under a cave, nor the bench visit which i saw from others blog..

Suggestion is to do more homework on the cruise line itinerary before choosing.

Review: We had a very good time on the cruise. Staff is very much supportive. The rooms were small but clean. Room could have multiple charging plugs instead of only one. They took care of everyone's dietary restrictions. As only we 2 were indian and vegetarians on that cruise, still they took care and prepared seperate vegetarian dishes for only 2 of us, rest 38 guests were non vegetarians. Though the taste was not that much upto the mark but still eatable and I appreciate their efforts. One suggestion, it would be good if on the 2nd day after checkout they cruise the same ship on the way back to tuan chau wharf from cat ba island, at least half way instead of full journey in tender boat.

Positive points: Our tour manager is Mr Dung (Toni) who is arguably the charmest and most passionate tour guide we had in Vietnam, who has great knowledge of the tour and has gone beyond expectations yo make sure everyone is happy, safe and well looked after. The crews were amazing with lots of smile and they are all down to earth dancing and singing with us at night! The highlight of the tour is simply seeing the bay go by while enjoying lunch and dinner at the panoramic dining room. The ship itself has a wooden touch who gives a classic feeling and is very well maintained. Kayaking at Hang Luon in the morning is definitely a must do while on the cruise (ticket already included).

Review: Our trip on the Calypso Pool Cruise was patchy and the pool by the way is a jacuzzi! And I am not sure what part of what bay we saw - The Agoda listing says Ha Long Bay but our bag tag said 'Lan Ha Bay'! - Starting with our transfer from Hanoi - excellent info and a good price (200k per person one way) Then we were met at a dock by nice staff and transferred by a barge to our boat - a small wooden boat that had been renamed to Calypso 11 - We were welcomed with a drink and then given a talk about our itinerary. Our room was entitled the Junior Executive suite with Terrace Balcony .... mmm ... tight twin with two chairs and a table out on a very small balcony. The food on the cruise was plentiful but not always of high quality. And drinks were extra. (We took a few of our own and put them in the small fridge in our room) The kayaking/village/cave all good. The speedboat to the 'beach' wasn't as luxurious as I expected --actually most of the experience wasn't luxury and having come from Hanoi where we spent $60 AUD per night on a pure luxury hotel it was a bit dissapointing being charged so much for this cruise. I wish I had just given myself a few more days in Hanoi and gotten a last minute bargain through a local travel agent - there a hundreds of boats on Halong Bay and dozens of travel agencies in Hanoi. I loved the scenery and the staff on the Calypso 11 looked after us very well - the spring roll demonstration on the top deck was great (and tasted great). I felt I was ripped off with price as it seemed so lop sided to what I had been paying in Hanoi for food/accomodation/alcohol/travel.

Positive points: We had an awesome lunch, dinner, breakfast and brunch! we were lucky to get the most amazing guide, Kong, the most handsome man in Vietnam (or so he claims). He had awesome, helpful, interesting and fun commentary the whole time and was super enjoyable. He even held a tai chi class in the morning on the sundeck which was sooooo cool. we got to go kayaking, try squid fishing, do tai chi, have fun at karaoke, and meet great new people. Overall 11/10 experience!

Positive points: Ha Long Bay was beautiful, and the trip to the cave was very nice.
