Most staff didn't speak English. It was very hard to interact with them.
Very old infrastructure. Looked like a huge ghost house.
Positive points: Beautiful grand hotel that was comfortable, perfectly located and far enough away for the beach noise to get a wonderful sleep. The view is spectacular and the buffet breakfast is over the top amazing. The huge outdoor pool is a fabulous way to cool down and has a beautiful view as well.

Staff incompetent to book a limousine car to go back to Hanoi.

Review: Not really a knock on the hotel itself, which was pretty good, but Ha Long city is a ghost town… lots of empty buildings and built much larger than its current occupation. A slightly eerie feeling hahaha but the hotel staff was kind and helpful so if you have to stay in the city it’s a reasonable option. Not walkable to really anything though, better off a bit farther up the road in either direction to get to restaurants. The hotel restaurant wasn’t the best either. But reasonably spacious and clean rooms
