Halong Paloma Cruise

Review: Great tour with very fun and knowledgeable staff who were very welcome. Only thing I would point out would be the food was quite average when compared to food on land so I'm sure it has something to do with being on the ocean. Otherwise had a great time would recommend.

Review: This cruise was nothing like we expected. We were switched from Paloma to Swan Cruise, so this is a review for Swan (an alleged upgrade.) The boat is extremely run down, the room had a bunch of stains on everything, feels very old and not well maintained. The bay itself is FULL of floating trash from the fisheries in the bay. The experience kayaking through the dirty water was traumatic. You can also see the cruise boats themselves emitting a lot of pollution into the air and water. If you care about being eco-friendly, stay far away. It’s a complete shame what they’ve allowed to happen to this beautiful natural area due to fishing. They also took us to a “pristine beach” that was just a small stretch of sand where the current had moved the rubbish away from at that time. It was full of flies and certainly not clean to swim in. We paid over $350 for the room for one night and over $100 for the transfer from Hanoi. This was the worst value for the money I’ve ever seen. The bay could be beautiful, but it’s not worth doing this experience and seeing it. Go to Thailand instead if you want a similar experience, see Phang Nga Bay.

Review: Paloma promises you a route for Bai Tu Long Bang, the most beautiful part. But after the payment says that Paloma is repairing and moves you to Era Cruise (less category) doing the Lan Ha Bay (ugly part of the bay) without asking you if you are agree. A completely fraud.

Review: We booked a Paloma cruise, but personnel reached us out and informed that due to boat maintenense we are transferred to Swan cruise. All the time I was dealing with Paloma, but our stay was at Swan.

About the Swan cruise:
- the boad a bit worn and torn, but still nice bed was comfortable, room with AC and quite good isolation.
- staff memebers and the guide were extra helful
- our room was "Balcony suite" at the very back of the boat. We didn't use the balcony because of the exhaust gases of the ship.
- food was OK
- prices of bevereges awerage (cola 2USD, beer 2.5-3USD, cocktails start at 6USD).
- activities like kayaking or cave visit - OK
- public falicities quite poor. A few sunbeds on the deck and the restaurant premises

About the Paloma:
- I have no idea about their boats, but it looked not OK when they sold a tickets to cruise which is under maintenese. We booked 1.5 months before our trip, but I check Agoda 2 days before our trip and rooms in Paloma cruise were available.
- they charge 35 USD/pax (Hanoi - Port - Hanoi) which is quite steep. Driver of the shuttle bus don't speak any english, drove aggressively. I didn't feel any premium experience.
- they very responsive via WhatApp / email and speaks english well.

I would not recommend this cruise.

Review: Thanks Paloma for the great tour. Aside from spectacular views of Ha Long Bay, we had delicious cuisine on board, and surprisingly romantic cake, roses, and decorations in the room. We had really great memories with Paloma cruise for our honeymoon. Next time we'll come back with our parents and hopefully twin babies :)

Review: We did the 2 day, 1 night stay with Paloma and loved every second of it! The food was unbelievable, the staff were lovely and the facilities and itinerary were just as expected. Highly recommend! So nice to only be one of the only boats around Bay Tu Long!

Review: There are several routes/cruises available. They are not all going to the same place. Paloma takes you to newer opened destinations , which are nice because it's not very busy, but I felt that we missed on the most interesting spots of Halong Bay.... make research before you buy ... Paloma is a good company... but there is more to it.... good luck!

Review: We thoroughly enjoyed our 1N Paloma cruise. Yes, it is very touristy - but that is the case no matter what company you pick. The room was comfortable, the food surprisingly good, but the best part was the staff. All the activities are well timed so you are kept busy, but not rushed. Recommended for a fun experience!
