Golden Silk Boutique Hotel - Hanoi Old Quarter

Review: Situated at the heart of Old Quarter. Very convenient location and near to the touristy spots. It comes with free breakfast. Room is quite small for 3 people and they need to setup another bed for the third guest. We opted to do early checkin but we were charged additional $30usd for few hours only.

Positive points: Great all rounder. Fantastic location, lovley staff and a good breakfast option/experience up 9n the 10h floor.

Review: Ok

Positive points: This is a classic French style property. Choose your room carefully. The deluxe rooms have a ‘window’ that overlooks the staircas, so there is no natural light. If you want the best quiet night sleep this IS a great room. We found it a bit dark with no natural light. The room could use a lighting upgrade which would make it a perfect room.


If you want natural light select a room with a balcony. Warning,this will come with all the Old Quarter traffic noise.

The hotel staff was incredible and the bar staff took great care of us during our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable! It is easy to walk throughout the Old Quarter. Everything is accessible from the property.

Review: All good apart from lighting. Darker interior design with not enough lights.

Positive points: The breakfast was very good-better than expected. The hotel staff were excellent: very kind and efficient and helped us book the local transportation through Grab and Be. The location was perfect! The hotel was within walking distance to many of the must see sites in the Old Quarter. Our room had a spacious bathroom, safe, hot water available, fridge, hair dryer, desk , TV and sitting area.

Review: If you’re looking for a hotel in a prime location in Hanoi but don’t care about being treated with basic respect, this is the place for you. While the location is unbeatable, the staff completely ruin the experience.

The hospitality was the worst I’ve ever experienced. The restaurant staff, especially Dat and Ngoc Anh, were shockingly rude and unprofessional. They made me feel unwelcome and ignored any requests with an attitude that bordered on hostility.

For a hotel in such a prime spot, you’d expect at least decent service, but this place fails miserably. Save your money and stay somewhere else where both the location and service are worth it.

Avoid at all costs.

Positive points: The breakfast is good but nothing exceptional.

Review: Didn't have the greatest start to the experience. I had booked an airport pickup who was supposed to be waiting for me with a sign. He was nowhere to be found. Had to call the hotel who contacted him. He had been sitting there the whole time with the sign facedown on the seat next to him.

After check-in and arriving in my room, realized my safe was locked so called down to reception. They said they would send someone up. 30mins later still no one so I called again and they said sorry it was busy with people checking in and they would send someone in 5mins. Another 30mins passes and still no one. Went downstairs to ask again and the lady at reception seemed annoyed at me for asking a 3rd time.

Overall, hotel and rooms are clean, breakfast buffet was good and location is excellent. Value for money. The young lady at reception is the best they have on staff. Attentive, always smiling and friendly.

Positive points: Over all the breakfast experience is reasonable but not overwhelmingly.

Positive points: The staff were very helpful, professional, and dealt with queries and alteration to our booking efficiently. The Breakfast room had great views from the 10th floor. It was a stones throw from the lake with a good variety of restaurants bars and shops. Beautifully furniture throughout and comfy beds. Excellent omelette.

Review: The hotel is is located at the prime location with easy access to city.

The issues what we faced were - terrible food taste wise and with no much options, we could not even had the breakfast which was included in our plan.

Staff was able to communicate in English but was quite arrogant. The bell boys expect tips every time they lift the luggage and during checkout although all the things were in place but the way they scrutinize your luggage and room it felt disgusting as if you have just come for theft there whereas there was nothing in that property. They should know how to behave with the customers when they are in hospitality industry.

Positive points: The staff at reception were excellent, helpful and friendly.

Review: My stay here felt like home as the staff are so helpful and make you feel like family. This hotel is one of the few that has larger rooms. The location is great. They really went out of their way to find solutions for me.

Positive points: No food change for weeks nothing for person living more than 5 days breakfast.
