Windy River Homestay

Review: Windy river was a little bit far away from the action but the room was large and clean. It was quiet at night and overall a good stay for a few days.

Positive points: The hosts were friendly.
You could buy breakfast there (cost 50vnd) which was simple but good.
There were free bikes to use.

Review: We are a family of 5 who stayed at the Windy River Homestay for 1 night.

The room had an ant infestation problem and some mold growing on the wall above the basin. The included breakfast was just plain instant noodles. There is no fridge or kettle in the room. On the plus side, the backyard was nice.

During the checkout process, we needed to pay 400,000 Vietnam Dongs for booking a private car and some drinks, we accidentally handed over 4million Dongs by mistake and the host took all of it. Luckily, we realized the mistake shortly after and managed to get the money back, with the host saying she didn't notice. This is extremely dishonest as she watched us count the notes in front of her one by one and therefore most definitely did notice, but simply tried to pocket the money.

Positive points: The location is very near to the old town. The room is not so bad can stay a family with 4 beds

Review: Everything just fine. But the bedsheet have a lil bit dirty. All ok.

Positive points: Pleasant host and location good for the price - 10 minutes walk to the bridge for the border of Hoi An old town, and 10 minutes to Memories land. Three-four bikes available for use.

Review: My friends and I have to say this place destroyed our happy feeling when we visited Hội An. I booked room for 3 people via Agoda, checked in on Monday and check out on Tuesday. To be honest, we had room with 15usd/night/3 people including breakfast, the host was not happy with this money and was not willing to make the breakfast for us, she asked us to eat at Old Town although the meals were included. The restroom had the awful smell, the bed also had insects, it was really itchy. When we checked out, the host did not care about us until we called. After returned the keys, she also forgot to return the ID card to us. That made our feeling really bad at that moment and not good memory even Hoi An is good place and food was super good. I will be back Hoi An but no Windy River homestay anymore

Review: I have to say this place destroyed our happy feeling when we visited Hội An. I booked room for 3 people, checked in on Sun and check out on Mon. Honestly to say, we have a good room with 12usd/night/3 people that I booked via Agoda, the host was not happy with this money, we have not enough pilows and no blanket until asking and her attitude was not friendly at all when we asked anything. We checked out at 12:20pm (20 minutes late with 12pm) and she charge us 2.5usd more. That made our feeling really bad at that moment and not good memory even Hoi An is good place and food was super good. I will be back Hoi An but no Windy River homestay anymore

Review: Great location in a quieter part of Hoi An away from the crowds but not too far from the old town. There are some great restaurants nearby especially the last one past the Nem restaurant(some of the best good I have had in Vietnam and much cheaper than the old town eateries). Good views of the river and countryside from most of the rooms. Extremely helpful staff. This was my second time here and will stay there . The free pedal bikes were a bit dodgy and could do with replacing.

Review: Look no further than Windy River Homestay for your visit to Hoi An. It is only a 5-10 min walk to the old town, close enough that this is not a problem, but just far enough to escape the mad turmoil that is the tourist madhouse that it can become with the hundreds of tourists turning up every day.

It is on the shores of the Island of Cam Nam in a local area with great local restaurants just a minute or 2 down the road which have great local food.

Beleive me there is nothing nicer than sitting on their garden terrace having a coffee or beer with a cooling breeze coming off the river to finish a hectic day doing the tours around Hoi An.

Originally only booked for 4 nights and liked it so much ended up staying a week.

You cant ask for a nicer place or hosts

1 downside: you will find you relax so much that it will be hard to leave and continue your journey

Positive points: Ive stayed in multiple homestays during my many visits to Hoi An and this is is by far the best value for money. It’s the cheapest one i have stayed in so i was bit nervous but it was extremely clean and comfortable and I was shocked to have a room with a balcony and plenary of natural light at that price point. The air conditioning worked great although it wasn’t really needed due to the weather. I asked for my sheets changed after my first night because i went to be quite dirty the night before and they changed them immediately which i appreciate.

The location is excellent as well. There isn’t much right near bye except for Mays cafe right across the street which is excellent, but you are only a short 10 minute walk from old town and the best Banh Mi in hoi an (the guy on the old town side of the bridge).

Positive points: The breakfasts were very yummy and filling, either banana pancake or fried egg Banh mi. The room was a good size and clean, hosts were very nice and accommodating. The location was perfect as not too noisy but a short walk into the old town
