Review: A very minimalist but good hotel. They need to keep up with better cleanliness but overall a great hotel to stay
Positive points: The location was great, very central.
Negative points: The rooms were a bit sparse, bare bones. There was some dust and dirt. The gym was tiny and did not have great equipment, making work outs very difficult. Also, we forgot something in the room and the hotel would not mail it to us despite the fact that we offered to pay for shipping. We had to arrange for an international courier which was extremely difficult and much more costly than if the hotel had just mailed it. This was not the level of service that I expected from a nice hotel.
Review: I was welcomed with polite and friendly staffs. Early check in was offered which I really appreciated as I was already quite tired after hours of early train ride. nBeddings and towels seemed old and not very clean-they were clean but didn’t look like so. nAlthough the hotel in general seemed old, my bathroom was super clean and it had a bathtub which I really appreciated. nOverall nice staffs, clean bathroom, in need of new beddings and towels
Positive points: Location - close to everywhere
Negative points: Mostly office areas - lots places closing early.
Review: On-site team is nice, hotel is outdated. The shower set up isn’t great, the tv doesn’t have smart capabilities, the linens are worn with holes and no water dispensers so you have to rely on bottled water the whole time.
Positive points: The reception staff were very helpful. The beds are comfy
Negative points: Rooms are small and the black sliding door was stained on 4 different rooms.. need a good clean, also the black sliding doors offer no privacy. nThe breakfast was ok, the offering could be improved - very basic. Great omelet though !

Review: If you are here for the Seoul Marathon and don’t mind paying premium amount for minimal room. Everything is ok just not great!
Positive points: Loved, loved, loved the location…which to me is everything…along with a comfy bed and a good shower (check and check).
Negative points: Although there was a longe, where you could get food on a limited menu, there was no real restaurant for dinner. And the lounge/bar did not open until 6:00pm even on weekends.nAlso, the hotel did not carry CNN on the television (I enjoy keeping informed even when on vacation, and have always been able to get CNN EVERYWHERE.
Review: Good 4* hotel, very good location for historical sites like the royal palaces. Rooms could do with a little refurbishment though as starting to look quite dated. Beds are comfortable. TV should include international channels.
Positive points: Location was great, but the room was bit small and old.
Negative points: It seemed like room needed renovation.
Review: Room size is on the smaller end, bathroom is rather tight in space. Bedding can be better but the room temperature is too hot. Location is good but will still need to take Kakao to Myeongdong/Namdemun.
Positive points: I love Shilla Stay I’ve been to a few locations in Seoul and it’s always top tier, staff is always nice and accommodating it’s my favorite hotel in my favorite city.
Review: The Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun (Myeondong) is in a great location near cafes, restaurants, and walking distance to the Palace and shopping areas. The hotel is clean, quiet, and the staff is helpful. I would stay here again.
Positive points: Location easily accessible from all buses and subway. Staff friendly and accommodating. Walkable distance to certain points of interest. 2 convenient stores within walking distance of hotel. The ambience is cozy yet modern.
Negative points: Rooms are not as spacious as other hotels I've stayed at in Seoul. Would like easier accessible sockets for charging devices.
Positive points: The room was too small and uncomfortable, and the staff seemed friendly, but it was kind of mechanical... It was definitely not a comfortable and pleasant kindness. Breakfast was just an average menu.
