Review: Very great stay the night before going to ha giang loop!
Positive points: The included buffet breakfast was quite good, with Vietnamese and western options provided, including fresh fruit. The room was great large, clean and comfortable. Excellent value. A quality hotel commensurate with what one would expect in Ha Noi or Ho Chi Minh City. Nice to see a hotel of this quality in Ha Giang.
Negative points: Had dinner in the hotel's restaurant, and do not recommend it. Not good at all. We would have been better served going somewhere else. Had better 'street food' in Ha Noi sitting on the sidewalk. The Phoenix needs to step up their game in the restaurant, at far as dinner is concerned.
Positive points: The room was clean and comfortable
Negative points: It said on the site there was a swimming pool and spa, the staff said it was all closed. Also it said there was a gym, this was two treadmills in an empty bedroom and the air con was really poor in there. There was no gym equipment or spa or anything of that sort apart from 2 running machines in a really small bedroom.

Positive points: Very good breakfast selection of Vietnamese food. Bed was comfortable and the room had a good view of the river.
Negative points: Very VERY loud location right on the main highway. Our room was booked as non smoking but everything smelled of cigarettes. Checkout is at 12pm but the key is locked out an hour prior so had to be reprogrammed by the front desk. My wife left her jacket in the closet at checkout but it was immediately "not found" by the staff

You should book through Agoda, it’s cheaper.
They wanted 50% of the price for extra 2 hours, and the fitness room was really poor.
The breakfast was ok.
Positive points: It was a convenient place to rest before starting the Ha Giang Loop. Nice views along the river from room
Negative points: It was a basic hotel with a grand frontage and somewhat dated but it was comfortable. The mini fridge was pretty loud.
