Truong Xuan Ecolodge

Review: This place is a resort in name only - if you're after a "resort" experience you won't get it here. The bungalows themselves are ok but and the views over the water are nice, but the whole establishment feels very run down and poorly maintained.

The location on the outskirts of Ha Giang should be quiet, but it seems to share some of its facilities with the backpacker place next door meaning there are constant (and I mean constant) stream of 18-22 year olds walking through to find where they're staying.

The food onsite is passable, but there are better options for both Vietnamese and western food in Ha Giang itself. We ended up having to do another night in Ha Giang because of the way our trip worked out, and were happy to shift out of Truong Xian into another homestay for our final night.

Positive points: The host was the best! would definitely come back to visit this family :)

Review: This promised so much but delivered so little. We were put in the wrong room and charged for it. We were put in a bungalow by the lake. Rubbish was being thrown into the lake by staff. The furniture was old and broken or very worn out. The room was very damp and the pillows were filthy or mouldy. The spa bath on the terrace was full of dirty water and clearly hadn't been cleaned for months. The dining area was an extremely tatty wedding venue. It was as big as an aircraft hanger with 3 tables set for the very few guests including ourselves who were duped by the photos. I pity anyone who celebrates one of the best days of their lives here. To top it all, the credit card machine didn't work (surprise surprise) so they cleared us out of all our cash. I wouldn't even go here to die

Review: The hotel manager speaks great English and was so helpful he basically saved us from missing our bus and went an extra mile to make sure we make it. I highly recommend this place and especially the help of the staff!

Review: Location was nice and quiet. We were upgraded a room which is generally nice, but the upgrade put us next top a peacock cage. They can be loud at night sometimes. Rented a moto-bike from them which was way to expensive, but being so far from town it made sense to have one. Front desk was great. Restaurant was wonderful.

Review: Overnight before heading to Yen Minh, so it was a quick stay however we had dinner at the restaurant and breakfast in the morning found this to be quite satisfactory. You have to eat in as it along way to the town centre, we were surprised at the number of travellers here I don,t think you can call them tourists as the route getting there is a long one especially from the Sapa Lao chao end.

Positive points: River view, quietness and the ambience

Positive points: beautiful view on the river, the room was very spacious and clean, we had to check out early the next day and the owner got up to let us check out and even made us breakfast very kind!

Review: Resort này có thiết kế không tinh tế, có thể nói là hơi quê mùa, nhiều chi tiết không ăn nhập với nhau. Tuy nhiên, vị trí khá đẹp do nằm bên bờ sông, một số phòng sát bên sông, khi nước lên ngập gần đến ban công, rất đẹp. Phòng rộng rãi cũng là một điểm cộng, đặc biệt giường siêu to. Điểm trừ là thiết kế quê mùa, nhân viên chưa chuyên nghiệp, ăn sáng quá nghèo nàn.

Positive points: Very nice and big room right besides the lake. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant is good.
