Review: We really enjoyed our 1 night stay here. Summer was very helpful and had several options for things to do in Ben Tre that she arranged for us. It is truly a family affair here, with mom and auntie cooking and Summer and her cousin welcoming guests. Highly recommend!
Positive points: Beautiful stay for a few days in the Mekong Delta. The host family is very welcoming (the owner speaks English and French), they are very well organized and provide you with all you need for your stay, from details about tours to free bicycles to go around the area. The room rate includes breakfast with a few options, and you can also pay to have lunch and dinner cooked by the family, with delicious food. We loved how attentive they were and would recommend this homestay to everyone wishing to visit the area. :)
Review: Id recommend Mekong Bleu for people who seek a peaceful stay on the edge of town. You can reach the center by a short walk or by bike which is freely available at the homestay. The host, Summer, is very forthcoming and it's clear she likes having guests. She gave us tips for tours around the area and she organized a bus to Saigon for us. Definitely worth a visit. The food was good too.
Positive points: Lovely family homestay.
Review: Nothing to add.
Positive points: I loved everything there, location, food, recommendations and also talking French ! If you look for an authentic stay you are at the right place :)
Positive points: Nice host. Great breakfast! Filtered water and ice. Good bed and air conditioning. Ben tre is very sweet town !
Negative points: Not quite like the pictures, a little older and minimal. Free bikes nice but really rusty and barely useable.
Review: 10-min bike ride to the city centre yet you are in the quiet residential area. The decor of the house is well designed and Summer and her family were very helpful and friendly. One thing to note is that the alley front of the place gets flooded depending on the time of day, due to the tide of the river, I suppose. It seemed to happen in the late afternoon or evening but you should probably check it with Summer if you’re arriving around that time.
Positive points: We ordered dinner for arrival and that was good. Breakfasts were generally good. The managers were nice, particularly Summer who we had most interactions with as her English was good. She was very helpful in arranging our trips and cars etc.
Negative points: The listing on booking.com included a pool and spa, but we saw no sign of them. The bedroom was fine, but the bed was very uncomfortable - it was basically a wooden board with a thin mattress on top. I fear that this is not uncommon, but both of us found it hard to get even a reasonable amount of sleep.
Positive points: The host Summer (along with her aunt and mom) have created a delightful homestay. Guests do share a bit of space with the family, but the compound is spacious with several relaxation areas for guests. Summer has created great suggestions for restaraunts and walking or cycling tours. She can book boat tours. She kindly books onward transport. Summer is engaging and full of interesting information about the city, region, and Vietnam. The homestay is located in a peaceful neighborhood away from the busy city center. It is a nice but slightly walk to the city center, or one could take a taxi.
Negative points: Nothing.
Positive points: Super nice spacious room, good breakfast, helpful and friendly owner (Summer), quick access to city by foot or bike. We most enjoyed our scooter tour onto the little island in the river by ferry. Can only recommend to do the same.
Positive points: The breakfast was delicious and Summer kindly assisted in making a breakfast that fit my dietary needs including being vegan. The location was great. Summer had lots of wonderful suggestions, extremely helpful. We had dinner at the house twice and both times were delicious.
Positive points: I liked everything about this place. Summer and her family have been amazing hosts, they were there if I needed anything and thoughtful to the guests needs. The house was clean, great wifi, and a lot of furniture was handmade. Summer was available and very willing to talk about anything, really enjoyed our talks. Can't recommend this place enough!
Positive points: The house was lovely and clean. The location is away from the busy area making it nice and quiet.
