Review: Beautiful quiet place to relax, just walking distance from everything.
Positive points:
The location was superb. 10 minutes into the old town. Our taxi let us down ion return trip to airport and Autumn made sure we got sorted and got our flight. She even organised a surprise birthday cake for my husband who was so
Pleased. Thank you Autumn
Negative points: Nothing we had a great stay and were welcomed by Autumn and her team and family.
Review:
Wonderful small boutique style hotel with excellent service provided by the owners. Excellent pool open 24hours, quiet location away from crowds.
Easy walking to the old town. Excellent Cafe just down the street.
Will absolutely stay again next time.
Positive points: Friendly staff, family owned business. Exceptional breakfast, huge portions. Great location only a short walking distance to the old town. Good value for money.
Review: Nice owner and nice breakfast walking distance to old town of hoi an i will recommend my friends to book here and they have cute dog around thw home stay overall excellent place if you want to have peaceful and quite holiday i will be back again to here in future
Positive points: Clean, great location, very friendly and accommodating staff and great breakfast.
Review: Great communication with the owner Autumn, even before we checked in. She arranged our airport transfer and booked our cooking class for us. When we arrived, she upgraded our room for free. Large room, big and comfortable beds, spacious bathroom. Everyday after we come back from exploring Hoi An, our room has been cleaned, towels are replaced and we were given new bottled waters. They treated us like family, catered to our every request, gave helpful suggestions. We didn't have an itinerary so Autumn gave us maps and brochures of where we might want to go. We had a lot of questions and special requests and they were very patient with us. They answered all our questions and fulfilled all our requests. Thank you Autumn and family and your entire staff for making our stay there memorable. We will definitely come back and choose Bonsai Homestay again.
Positive points: Bonsai was a perfect location for our 2 night stay in Hoi An. Quiet and calm hotel that’s only a short walk to all the hustle and bustle of the centre. Staff super friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend!
Review: Nice and quiet location but still nearby the center
Positive points:
We stayed for five nights with our family at this lovely homestay, which is within comfortable walking distance of the old town yet tucked away in a tranquil neighborhood on the quieter Cám Nam Island. The location is perfect for travelers wanting to explore the vibrant bustle of Hoi An while having a peaceful retreat to unwind in the evening.
The property itself is unique—a tastefully renovated building surrounding an atrium with an incredible collection of bonsai trees cultivated by the owner, as well as a swimming pool. The breakfast area is set under a roof with a beautiful view of the bonsai garden.
The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and serviced daily. We stayed in a spacious family room with three wide beds, two small balconies offering lovely views of the atrium, an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fans, a fridge, and a kettle—everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The owners and staff were exceptional—friendly, accommodating, and genuinely caring. Their incredible service stood out during a moment when we needed extra support due to a minor health issue with our daughter. They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, providing assistance and flexibility that made a significant difference in helping us get back on track quickly.
Breakfasts were made to order from a menu, served promptly, and consistently fresh and delicious. The homestay also offers convenient amenities, including laundry service, bicycle rentals, and assistance with arranging tours.
We would highly recommend Bonsai Homestay to any travelers seeking a convenient location for exploring Hoi An and a quiet, relaxing place to return to after a busy day.
Negative points: We really had no issues with this property. Anything you need, just ask the proprietors.
Review: The guesthouse is located a short walk from Hoi An old town in a quiet neighbourhood. The family room with 2 double beds in separate alcoves was perfect for us with 2 adults and 2 kids. Lovely garden and nice swimming pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend Bonsai Villa.
Positive points: Calm place near the hectic Hoi An centre (5-10 min walking).
Negative points: Very moist rooms downstairs
Review:
My friend and I had three lovely nights at Bonsai and absolutely loved it!! The family who run the homestay are very friendly, the rooms spacious and clean and the little pool was such a relief after our big days ✅
I'd gladly stay here again in a heartbeat
Positive points: We loved the location, we had a clean comfortable large family room. The breakfast was very good. The bread rolls (bread on menu) were fresh and delicious so was the omelette.
Review: Lovely setting - really relaxing, peaceful and tranquil. Comfortable, clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast amazing. Owners very friendly, helpful and flexible. Really close to old town but not right in middle so is not noisy, feels relaxed and peaceful. Free bicycle rental so easy 15 minute bike ride to both beaches. Loved this place and could not recommend it enough.
Positive points: I had a great experience in the hotel. The location is good. It's possible to do a lot of things walking and the all staff were very lovely and kind. I recommend!
Review: Everything was absolutely perfect. The owners a husband and wife team and their beautiful baby were delightful. They went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. A short 10 minute walk into town or you can borrow a bike. My 60 year old mum and I rode out to the beach at 6am one morning. Took us about 30 minutes each way but well worth it at that hour of the morning. Rooms are basic and super clean, thatched roof so aircon works overtime and not that well during the 38degree days but that's to be expected and where the pool came in handy. Beautiful bonsai garden with many birds in cages, green manicured lawn. Can't forget to mention the family restaurant operated by family members located in town, delicious traditional fresh Vietnamese food which we visited twice and on the last day the owners helped by ordering in for us and transporting back to our hotel. This beauty has opened my mind to staying in more home stays during our travels. Thank you very very much Bonsai Homestay you are a true gem and would definitely recommend and stay again.
Positive points: Inexpensive accommodation, beautiful complex with bonsai garden and refreshing pool. Delicious breakfast included an abundance of fresh fruit, eggs and fresh baguettes.
Positive points:
Our experience at this hotel was exceptional from start to finish. Check-in was incredibly easy, and we were even able to check in as early as 9 AM, which was a lovely surprise! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome right away.
The hotel looked just as beautiful as it did in the pictures. We were delighted with the peaceful atmosphere and the gorgeous garden, which added a touch of tranquility to our stay.
We also requested an airport transfer, and for a small additional fee, we had a driver waiting for us at the airport, which was very convenient and made the whole process much smoother.
One of the standout features was the laundry service—they offer laundry, which was a great convenience for us during our stay.
The hotel is located in a quiet area, just a short walk to the city centre, so you get the best of both worlds: easy access to the city's attractions, but a calm and relaxing environment to return to at the end of the day.
Overall, I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!
Negative points: The only downside was that they charged a 3% fee for card payments, which I wasn’t happy about.
Positive points: The family. The accommodation. The setting
Positive points:
The family that run the hotel are like loved Uncle and Auntie's- you order breakfast the day before to help out and come time to have breakfast it is ready to eat in the beautiful bonsai garden with a pond full of large Koi fish.
My son got sick, they always enquired, gave us extra supplies, and genuinely cared.
They can organise anything you need, and when it came to leave, they came to our cabs door and waved goodbye.
You can walk to the night markets and the old part of town really easily, it's about 1.5 km's.
The streets are being re-laid, so you may have a little walk to the hotel but it's worth it.
Negative points: The shower system is a bit unusual, but you can work it out quickly enough.
