Review: Review: A Peaceful Traditional Stay Near the Palacesn❤️❤️nI recently stayed in a traditional Korean guesthouse near the palaces, and it was a lovely experience. The place is very quiet and peaceful, offering a true Korean atmosphere that’s perfect for anyone wanting to experience local culture. It feels like a hidden gem, especially considering how expensive that area usually is — this guesthouse is much more affordable than other similar hanok-style accommodations nearby.nnThe staff member in charge of cleaning was very kind and always helpful, which made the stay even more comfortable. Since this is a traditional house, there are a few small differences compared to modern hotels — something I hope guests can appreciate as part of the unique charm.nnOne important tip: if you book through Agoda, you need to message or call the phone number provided on the door at check-in. They will then send you the check-in details. If you don’t speak Korean, it’s helpful to ask a local nearby to message the number for you. Just make sure to have your booking ID ready.nnOverall, this was a peaceful, culturally rich, and budget-friendly stay in one of the most beautiful areas of Seoul. Highly recommended for those looking for a quiet and authentic Korean experience.🩷🩷
Review: Stayed for 6nights and it was a nightmare, first night an uninvited guest-live cockcroach appeared in the room, made me a sleepless night, 2nd day, power circuit in my room was tripped as the owner said the power outlet in the bathroom was moist as i was half way showering, the tiny dusty vent seems to be useless apparently. Power outlet is located right down next to toilet bowl & shower head holder is fixed and points towards where the power outlet is, you simply cant leave the water turned on when you need to shampoo your hair or wash your face. Room is indeed very small where you need to fold half of your futon if you need to go to bathroom. AC filter was filthy and mouldy that came with disgusting smell, i had to clean the filters and wiped down the mould cause i was out of breath staying in the room breathing the filthy air that could be harmful to my lungs. Mould stains can be found everywhere near bathroom door as ventilation is really sucks. Mattress, blanket came with sweaty smell as well. ‘Fresh’ towels were not really clean but with breach stains. Dont get surprised to see spider webs on the beautiful wood crafted ceiling given all the other factors found. Self serve kitchen is dirty too, overall a very rundown hanok. Owner was hard to reach if you had something urgent. Think twice of staying there cause you are indeed getting what you’re paying for. Yes for sure that i wont return again even it is for free. Thanks!!
Review: The neighborhood seems very local — possibly with things to explore, though I didn’t have time to check. I arrived late at night and was left on the street with no check-in guidance. The host took ages to respond, calls weren’t answered promptly, and you’ll need a Korean number just to reach anyone. The issues I experienced — poor communication, broken shower head, no support — have been mentioned in other reviews and still haven’t been addressed. Not recommended at all.
Review: This was by far the worst guesthouse experience I’ve ever had. It is not foreigner-friendly at all. We never received any instructions on how to check in, and it was extremely difficult to contact the host. Thankfully, we had a friend in Korea who helped us reach out—otherwise, we would have been completely stranded.nnWhen we finally got the passcode and entered the room, we were shocked to find that someone else was already occupying it! We had to contact the owner again, and were left waiting outside in the freezing cold for nearly two hours before we were finally given a new room. Throughout this whole ordeal, the owner never apologized or took any responsibility.nnThis place is completely unprofessional and disorganized. If you’re a foreign traveler, I strongly advise you to avoid this guesthouse. It was a stressful, uncomfortable, and downright disappointing experience.
Review: The room is really small I am 5’4 small but can’t sleep with straight position because the room is that small. Also mold everywhere, toilet was wet when I first got in, I saw cockroach. I doubt if they cleaned my room before I come. Staff was extremely unhelpful, when I text & email & call because there is no response, they does not answer in 1 hour I needed to wait minium 6 hours also, after that long wait, they treat me like they are doing that for favor. I am customer who paid for the room so they actually shouldn’t be doing that. Or just do not running this businesses 😂 room is too wacky and disgusting for this price and zero customer service
Review: Local area and close to subway station. Breakfast was cup noodles and toast. Be sure to reach out to staff via text for entry email instructions. An additional step for Agoda customers so beware. Bedding for ground sleeping was thin and sore hips after first night.
Review: There was no instruction given to me until I reached the location. Even so. I had to trouble other people to help me in contacting the host as I do not have a Korean phone number. All in all, it's a very nice place, yes. But communication was very difficult. If you want to stay here, prepare a korean phone number to contact host. Was informed by host, Agoda did not provide customer's email. Thus why, she couldnt send me any instructions. Post box in front of the house has instructions to give them a call or text them via a korean number. Would I go back? Probably yes but I would get a bigger room even though it's just by myself. Toilet is available in each own private room. Do book early as it is always filled with people going in and out.
Review: In the heart of seoul , a dream like home . So cozy and comfortable . nVery beautiful traditional home . nAbsolutely gorgeous and close to the food street. nI would hope the owner could send the check in details at 3 pm by email because not a lot of travelers have a phone . If you don’t call the owner or message , you don’t get the check in information. nThat has always been an issue . n
