Positive points: We booked a shuttle to Bali through the hostel and it was soooo easy! Ara made sure we had all the info and helped us with the timing. Our room had everything we needed and was sparkling clean. Loved the chilled garden area too.
Negative points: Nothing
Positive points: The hostel is really well-organized and they messaged us in advance to confirm everything. Check-in was fast, bathroom clean, and the room had soap and towels. Super chill spot.
Negative points: Only stayed 1 night due to schedule — sad to leave!
Positive points: Zzz Ijen was soooo nice! Ara was really sweet and helped us get dinner recommendations. We loved the hostel cat, she was always chilling near the kitchen. The place is realllly clean and the whole vibe is just so homey. Totally loved our 3 nights here.
Review: Good hostel nice location
Positive points: Had a smooth 2-night stay. Everything was clean and organized. Ara was friendly and explained the house rules clearly via WhatsApp. Loved the shared kitchen — cooked dinner both nights. Also close to some local warungs and ATMs.
Negative points: Nothing
Review: All the staff is very friendly and helpful and sweet and interesting to have a talk with. The room is perfect, comfortable, clean, with an air conditioner, window and good wifi. Clean toilets as well and warm/cold showers. There's a kitchen with hot/cold filtered water, and a fridge. Basically everything you might need. You can park your motorcycle under the roof. There are lots of common areas. Backpacker friendly prices! 10 out of 10!

Negative points: management needs to get it together. the address listed on booking.com and confirmation info sent to me was wrong. booking.com should verify all listings. i took a local taxi to an abandoned lot. not fun as a tourist and being able to communicate with the driver. i ended up paying more than double due this misinformation. i had to text the hostel to get the exact address. even when you google search and or the maps there's a dicrepancy in the name of the hostel. instead of zzz hostel ljen it comes up as zzz hostel indonesia. the other chain in malang is consistant not these guys. aside from a frustrating start cant say much about the place. a hit and run kind of place for ljen crater. see pic and the address is way off.

Positive points: Met some cool people in the dorm and hung out at a nearby coffee place. The bed had a socket and towel provided, and the whole place was spotless. Took the Bromo tour and it was totally worth the price.
