Positive points: The host is super cute and friendly, she prepared to us coffee in the morning and lemonade in the afternoon, and helped us booking a cheaper transfer from city center to the airport.
Negative points: Slightly 'far' from the most trafficated and lively part of the city.
Review: Drowning in a lot of reviews and suggestions for hotels and homestays in Hanoi, I finally decided to stay here and still had a little hesitation, worried that the online experience might differ from reality 😆. It did not disappoint, despite the weather in Hanoi being quite unpredictable that day, the hospitality of the homestay owner was wonderful. So even though we only stayed for one day, my husband and I still had a pretty enjoyable experience here. My child loved it because there were many eye-catching decorations along the stairs. The room was spacious, cozy, and clean. I will recommend it to my relatives and friends when they come to Hanoi.
Positive points: Everything was clean and well-prepared, and the location was perfect. Hong was amazing—she made us coffee and breakfast every day and even washed and folded our clothes. Some might find the bed a bit hard, but for us, it was fine. Huge thanks for everything!
Review: Very comfortable, clean and nice decorated room with bathroom. The host lady is a very nice and helpful person. We can totally recommend this place.
Positive points: Wonderful, friendly and kind host. She went out of her way to help us. The home has lovely art and decorations.
Review: This was a nice refuge in the business of Hanoi. The room I had was cozy and big enough to spread out a bit. The house is a tall, older home that is well decorated. The host was very nice and helpful.
Positive points: Cozy homestay in a less busy part of Hanoi. Super friendly host, accommodated us arriving late and let us keep the bags there before our flight back home. There's a delicious pho literally next door. Shower was hot and good water pressure.
Negative points: The beds are on the hard side, even for Vietnam.
Review: Pros: The room was spacious and clean. It’s near a nice park and lots of good food. nCons: The single room is on the ground floor so the “private external bathroom” isn’t actually private. I saw other people using it during my stay. Opt for a room on an upper floor.
Positive points: Hong has a beautiful home quietly tucked away in a very central location of Hanoi. My stay at Tonkin homestay was pleasant and cozy! nThank you Hong!
Review: You are welcomed warmly at this family’s homestay. Morning coffee and help arranging a taxi were much appreciated. The house and rooms are inviting and homey. The beds were somewhat firm and you could hear talking in nearby rooms. However, I would stay here again for the home’s overall comfort and the hospitality of the hostess.
Positive points: Mrs. Hong’s family home is beautiful! And like other reviews mentioned very much feels like an art gallery. She was a very kind and hospitable host. Every morning she served us coffee, fruit and a Vietnamese breakfast dish. She was always available to answer questions and helped us find a driver to the airport. The wi-if worked great and the beds were comfortable. There are several stairs which could be an issue with heavy luggage but we had only backpacks. Our family enjoyed getting to know her and felt honored that she shared her home with us!
Negative points: Unfortunately, we stayed during one of the coldest weeks of the winter and most homes, including Mrs. Hong’s, do not have central heating so it was very cold inside the house. She did provide us with plenty of blankets to keep warm at night. It is a good 30 minute walk to most of the sites, which I was aware of when I booked, but the cold weather made the walk less enjoyable and calling a Grab wasn’t always convenient because the traffic around the city was so bad. Mrs. Hong does offer to do your laundry for 130,000 Dong/Kg. That felt very high so we took our laundry to WorldWash (25,000 Dong/Kg).
Review: A beautiful house , well decorated, and a super friendly host.
Positive points: It was one of most amazing experience in Vietnam! The host was so incredible and warm that I felt like at home with my own family. Ms Hong speaks english so it was very interesting to hear more about locals lives. The hause was decorated by her beloved husband who is architectur, so the vibe of the house feels like art galary. Ms. Hong and her huband Mr. Binh are verry friedly, teated us with homemade vietnamiese coffee and tea. I and my wife hope that our friendship with this lovely hosts will last in the future.
Review: Loved our stay, felt like a home away from home. Nice cosy feel to our room which was nice after traveling for 3 months. Home stay is in a quiet location but no more than a 20min walk to the old quarter. Would definitely stay here again
Positive points: The kindest lady you will meet! So helpful and goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable!nLots of great food and shops nearby and about 30k for a grab to the Old Quarter. nLarge homey room with desk and fridge, locked courtyard, so great if you are on a motorbike.nWould definitely recommend ❤️
Review: our first booking with agoda.com was a homestay in Hanoi city. We really enjoy the decoration or our room and house in general, was very clean and the lady in charge give us tea and pills when we catch a cold after very hot days in south Vietnam. On the other side we literally freeze in our room and catch maybe the coldest days by end of December in Hanoi this after weeks in hot south Vietnam. The door to balcony didn't really closed well and there isn't any sort of heating in this house so we really waited to leave the place every morning and worm up outside. The bed mattress feels like sleeping on stones. Location is a not that good as bit far from everything of interest or long walking distance. We also didn't like that doors to enter the courtyard are locked with chains and lookers and even an extra one in the evenings (even if we forgot the key or something in the room door was closed again) so we felt more like locked than free to return at whatever hour back to our cold room.
Positive points: it’s clean and tidy
Review: This was the only place in our 6 week stay in Vietnam which forwarded us a photo of their front door. Knowing how difficult it’s sometimes to find a homestay in urban Vietnam this deserves a full star! We were looked after by an incredibly nice lady who insisted on carrying our bags and who made us welcome glass of juice and several cups of coffee. Position of the homestay was great. It was surrounded by several good restaurants and many cafes. And it was not too far from the Old Town. Highly recommended. We would stay again.
