Sao Mai Hotel - Cai Be

Review: This is a great place to use as a base to visit the Mekong. Mr. Vu, the owner, is also a great source of ideas and energy. He has chosen the perfect career: treating guests like family

Positive points: Mr Vu and his family were the perfect hosts. They always made you feel welcome, he showed us around the area on scooters and let us borrow one of the scooters later free of charge. We went on a tour on a boat with him, stopping at all kinds of locations, which was one of the best we had in the mekong delta (he was also the tour guide). We had several dinners with them, helping them a bit with making the meals.
I can say with no doubt this is a must for anyone wanting to experience the delta.
Also the wifi was great, the shower was OK always with hot water, great air conditioning, there was always free water to drink and the location is also really good, right by the river.

Review: The accomodation is great but is the care and support of the Host that makes this stay exceptional.

Vu is incredible in his ability to remove all complexity and made our stay fun, relaxing, entertaining, and interesting.

Positive points: My friend and I will never forget our stay in Sao Mai Hotel. Vu and his family made us feel like we are a part of it. The cleanliness, comfort, warmth, amazing food, smiles - this place has it all!
We also booked an incredible boat tour with them, very informative and atmospheric. I wish I could do it all over again!

Hotel is located on the river bank, surrounded by many ancient houses so you can enjoy fresh air and sightseeing.

Positive points: Great people and great place to wander arround.
They even help you with cheap local transportation from HCMC to their own door.

Review: During my one month in visiting several different places in Vietnam, my stay at Sao Mai definitely stands out as a highlight. Vu and his sister Tuyet were the most friendly people in Vietnam. vu organized a full day of exploring the Mekong Delta area with a big boat ride to meet the smaller boat to travel through the canals and floating market. He also led a very enjoyable bicycle trip around one of the islands along the Mekong River. Vu is the kind of person you want to be around and have a lot of fun with. Our bicycle trip also included a stop at several local vendors and was such a great time and there was no pressure from any vendors to buy anything. Review: Large, clean,quiet room with comfortable bed.Mr Vu was a great host, full of fun & cooked me a good noodle soup when I arrived hungry after a long bike run from HCMC. Definitely will be back.

Positive points: During the days in Cai be, we had the chance to discover the city thanks to Vuvu. He helps us with everything (bus, activities…). It’s was not only an hotel but a experience in the Vuvu’s family.

Review: Good hotel located in a very quite place. A very peaceful place to enjoy and relax. I do not have a chance to try their foods as my mother-in-law cook at her province for me. Mr Vu is a very young nice guy where can speak very good in English. His hotel also provide free bicycle for me to ride around. The staffs is vey friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend this hotel and for sure for my next visit together with my family. Also please avoid to stay at Riverside Cai Be Hotel which is for Vietnamese people to stay when they coming back over the weekend from the city. Although is a bit cheaper but very difficult to find food because the staffs don't speak English. Hotel is very noisy compare to Sao Mai and staffs is very rude and unfriendly...

Positive points: Vu and his family were extremely welcoming, the air-conditioned room very spacious and comfortable, and the home-cooked food just delicious (you can help prepare it and learn how it’s done!). To boot, Vu was super-helpful in arranging for transport from and to HCMC and his tours are lots of fun, while offering real insights into life in the Delta.

Positive points: Mr Vu and his family (his mom and sister) are so warm and lovely people. The home cooked meals were yummy.
Mr Vu arranged a river boat for a 5-6hrs cruise with various stops to a local market, fish farm, popcorn making. We took a smaller boat on a tributary.
