Hoi An Viet House Homestay

Review: Stinky room, dirty sheet, inconvenient, unfriendly family member. Never want to book homestay in Hoi An

Positive points: The place is clean cheap and very close to the center of Hoi an 10 min walk. They have a very nice laundry service. The room for 3 had one big bed and another single bed. The shower was big.

Positive points: What was good in Hoi An Viet House Homestay:
- fantastic location: 5-10 minutes of walking distance to Old town and sightseeing places, massage salons, shops, cafés, pharmacy and ATM was 1-5 minutes of walking distance from homestay
- clean bed with towel and extra blanket have been provided
- there was air conditioner and window in my room
- free wi-fi internet worked very well
- shared electric kettle is in the hallway
- shared bathroom with toilet and shower for one person use only
- they have own café, if I understood correctly from seeing tables and chairs in front of the house
- homestay is the same as in booking.com pictures
- homestay team (aunties and uncle) can organize sightseeing tours, bus and train tickets for travelers. I bought my bus ticket to Phan Thiet from them.

Interesting nuance in Hoi An Viet House Homestay:
- I couldn’t lock bathroom door while I was using toilet or taking shower. Door lock didn't work. Bathroom door is made of frosted glass and I assume you can see silhouette of the person in the shower/toilet. But it didn't bother me at all.

Overall, if you are not picky and want to be close to the Old town, this is a good place to stay.

Great place to stay if you are on a budget.
It's only a 10 minute walk to the old center.
There are a lot of good restaurants right around the corner.

Positive points: The old man was nice letting us in and showing us around. For us it was ok to stay here for a quick over nighter but wouldn’t recommend for a longer stay.

Positive points: The place is within walking distance of the very crowded tourist center and on a quiet street. A great place to relax after a long day. The owner of the business was very helpful in everything. We rented a motorbike, booked transportation to the airport, everything went smoothly. We extended our stay for 2 more nights and were able to rest very comfortably in the middle of a long trip. thank you

Review: Where to start? While my wife an I arrived and checked in, they tried to give us a room that was not the one we booked. After check in time listed the hostess took us to the room and informed us that the room would only be cleaned every two days. Then for the next several days the hostess and her whole family were sick. They knocked on our door several times a day to tell us to be quiet. Flushing the toilet. Drawing a bath. Moving a chair to eat at the table were all met with harsh door knocks and reprimands. The whole hose was sick and took it out on their guests. The next door neighbors were kicked out for being too loud. Only to be replaced by a family with Vietnamese blood ties who had a small child who was amazingly loud crying at all hours.

The lady of the house was nothing short of mean. If the upstairs is too noisy then don’t rent it out while thy are sick. They did not clean the room or change the towels or sheets, without being prompted. There are flies and ants because of the lack of cleaning the trash bins.

I would not stay here again, and left our stay three days early just to escape the oppressive nature of the hosts.

On our last day, the door man puked in front of my wife.

Positive points: Friendly staff, they helped us with everything and she spoke English very well! Would recommend!

Review: I highly recommend Hoi An Viet House. It’s located a short walk from the ancient town but far enough away to avoid the crowds if you want. Also surrounded by restaurants with some of the best food I’ve had in all of Vietnam.

Review: The owner was nice and offered to help us get shuttles, boat rides and bikes. Unfortunately, we had already booked everything in advance. Not far from the old town.

Positive points: This was a lovely homestay in the heart of Hoi An’s old town. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious, comfy, and clean!

Positive points: What a fantastic place. Thanh was an exceptional host, provided everything that we needed. The bed was so comfortable that we want to take it everywhere. We had an extra night here, a fantastic place to relax for a few days after 7 months on the road. Loved everything here.
