Review: Nice place to stay. The terrace overlooking the river is a real attraction. The food I had whilst staying there was nice.
Positive points: Everything about the property itself is amazing! Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, beautiful vegetation and decor, right on the water! Incredible
Negative points: It was kind of a journey to get here, it’s relatively remote. But the hosts can pick you up from the ferry , for a small fee! Try to arrange that ride before you arrive by ferry to avoid confusion
Review: It's not easy getting to Happy Family, but what a gem! Once you get here, you'll never want to leave. Gorgeous jungle oasis with simple accommodation and fantastic people and food. Don't miss it!
Positive points: Really liked the beautiful garden, there is a clean swimming pool which made a difference on hot and humid days and the restaurant deck was also lovely - but most of all the staff is the best, always cheerful and pleasant! Thank you Van! :)
Negative points: Leaking toilet, there’s a bit of weird smell in there too.
Review: I have never been taken care of so well! And the place is fantastic. The most amazing thing I did there was right a bicycle for 8 hours through the little tiny trails that traverse the island.
Positive points: Extremely friendly and helpful staff, boat tour was great, all the meals were tasty and large, pool was clean, Van helped booking inbound and onward buses. Sitting on the large deck (restaurant) right on the Mekong River watching the boats go by.
Negative points: Dogs barking at night. Massage, mud bath& steam room advertised but not available.
Review: We really enjoyed our stay. The guesthouse has beautiful surroundings, full of sculptures and murals and plants everywhere. They helped with buses, trips and we're extremely responsive and communicative. We ate all our meals there, everything was delicious. Room itself was quite modest, same for the bathroom. Rather humble conditions but location is not yet very touristy and we enjoyed experiencing Mekong at the happy family guesthouse :)
Positive points: Lovely location right on the Mekong River, lovely staff who were attentive and saw to our every need, and also recommended interesting excursions. The on-site restaurant was also excellent.
Review: A little hard to reach but we learned later that a bus from HMC can bring you directly there. Facilities are a bit tired, but good enough if you don't need anything fancy. All the staff is extremely kind--Van is super nice and helpful and generous, really working hard to ensure a good stay. Food is pretty good -- jackfruit stewed in coconut milk was awesome. We stayed on the river cabin which was fun during the day, but actually really noisy at night with all the boats.
Positive points: Fantastic staff is always smiling and really helpful. Great restaurant right on the Mekong river. Good value room. Well organized mekong boat excursion with several experiences.
Negative points: It looks challenging to get here although hotel staff perfectly organized all the connections with motorbikes and ferries from the Saigon bus. Mold is everywhere but this is unavoidable at the wet mekong environment. Food comes a bit slow.
Review:
We had a booking over Agoda. After arriving at the guesthouse, we were told that due to Covid it was not open yet.
It looked lovely though (but be aware that the guesthouse cannot be reached by c
Positive points: Staying on An Binh was lovely and we enjoyed both biking and scootering around. We liked that the dining area was on the river. The staff were all friendly accommodating and the room was comfortable
Negative points: The boats that were constantly docked in front of the dining area blocked the view of the river.
Review: My go-to Mekong getaway. We usually cycle tour from Ben Tre or Cai Be and this is our preferred destination! So relaxing on the deck watch boats go by and the amazing sunset colors form.
Positive points: Peaceful, beautiful, tidy
Review: Lovely Homestay/guesthouse with a great pool. Good food menu at very reasonable prices. Stunning views right on the Mekong. Beautiful gardens. Staff were helpful in organising scooter and onward travel.
Positive points: Gorgeous grounds! Very beautiful and peaceful! It was everything I’d hoped for!
Review: We loved the place because it is situated at the river and the owners created a beautiful garden and a lovely pool. Our kids loved swimming in it. At the back you can take a nice stroll through the village. The owner was very nice and helpfull.
Positive points: We love the service from Van. She took customer service to a different level. She is a sweetheart and loves going above and beyond for her customers. She was earnest, authentic, and quick to solve problems. Nothing was too much to ask. We had to leave early to accommodate our flight schedule to our next destination and I was sad to say farewell. Van works hard to make up for anything lacking with the Homestay. She does everything. I don't think this place runs without her. She arranged a boat tour for us, and got a cake for my husband's birthday. I would hire her to run my properties in a heartbeat.
Negative points: The property may have seen its best days years past. It's in sore need of basic repairs and updates. I did not expect to be in a luxury resort or high end accommodations. I understand its location, as my family is from the area. It's deep in the Mekong Delta and rustic. But it needs the basics. Our group took up most of the available rooms. All of the showers/baths are leaking, rusty faucets, extreme low water pressure, or AC not properly functioning. The place feels as though the owner doesn't want to invest into their customers' basic hygiene needs and comfort. The cottage on the water has a gorgeous location, yet the insides has no AC and lighting is poor and spooky. My family had to ask to switch to a different room.
Review: Not 5 star but the location gives a feel for the real Mekong. The staff, food are fantastic.Although you share toilet and bathroom facilities they are clean stayed 3nights love the place
Positive points: Garden. Pool. Perfect. Food excellent. Rooms average, hard beds, simple bathroom, hot water.
Negative points: The 4 hour trip on the boat, but probably the only thing you can do around. The delta is an industrial area, so not really anything to do and see.
