Hanasa Pu Luong Resort

Review: Beautiful place, there is a paddy field in front of resort, the view is beautiful.

Positive points: Not much

Review: Following helpful communication with Ms Anh in advance arranging transport for our trip, and the fabulous photos of the resort, I had high expectations.

However, the actual experience was somewhat disappointing.

The room had a balcony with an amazing view, but nothing to sit on to relax and enjoy it. There were no chairs in the room either to move there.

The same with the pool. Looked great (although water was rather cloudy) but not a single chair or bed to use before or after a dip. What are you supposed to do?

In the bathroom the shower drain is positioned just next to the toilet so the whole area gets wet. Make sure you wear your waterproof shoes when if you go to the toilet any time after.

There is only 1 waste bin for the room which is in the toilet but with no lid. Not great for used toilet paper.

The bath in the room, whilst looking great is really impractical and awkward to use and results in water all over the floor.

I had understood this was a quiet retreat, however the resort is next to a track used by hundreds of motorbikes and down in the valley there is construction work all day which adds to the noise and disrupts the tranquility. Fortunately this does quieten at night allowing a peaceful nights sleep.

No safe is provided, but there is a notice saying don't leave your valuables in the room and offering no alternative.

I asked if they had a local walking map, but was told they didn't have one. I guess they want to sell tours rather than help guests do their own thing.

Breakfast was very basic and lacking some staples such as any cereal, water (other than sugar water), butter and choices such as egg were not obvious without asking specifically.

The whole breakfast experience was far from what one would expect in a supposed 4* resort.

Service seemed to lack any of the warmth we have experienced everywhere else in Vietnam.

All in all, Hanasa is a massive disappointment and flatters to deceive. Whilst the views and Pu Luong are spectacular, with so many other options in the area I could not recommend staying here.

Positive points: The place is right in the middle of the rice fields, so the atmosphere was very relaxing.
Our bungalow was super comfy, aircon & wifi available, comfortable beds and beautiful view. The kitchen served tasty local foods.
We would stay again. Thanks guys for making it a home for us and keeping up the good work.

Review: Pu Luong in generally is a bit out of the way, a more remote place for a get away. So do not expect street shops or bright lights if you come to this town.
What you get is a breathtaking view, local villages, culture, peace and quiet.
This hotel was on the 'upper' range of price and facilities.
There was limited English speaking abilities within the staff cohort. So patience on both sides is appropriate.
The rooms were good. We had a 'wet toilet' (where the shower does not have a separate cubicle from the toilet.
However, to get to the hotel that is perched on a steep slope to afford you the beautiful view of the valley, there is a steep slippery slope to get down (or up). Not something I would recommend for a car. I found it safer and better for everyone to walk the last 50 meters with their own luggage.

Positive points: An excellent stay. Great facilities at this new resort.
Staff were excellent and very attentive. The overall service was great and staff were very friendly. Good food offerings.
Everything is nice, the view from bungalows is unreal the rice fields terraces. Many things to do outside the hotel if you want to walk around the rice fields

Review: I picked this resort only because of the view from the balcony. It does not let me down. The rice terrace is gorgeous. But there are lots of bugs outside so keep the door always close. The staff is excellent. They always say hi and eager to help. No complaint at all.

Positive points: The resort is absolutely stunning & the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful.
We especially liked the naturally swimming pool & the views of the surrounding area.
We absolutely loved our stay at Pu Luong. The team treated us like family, we wish we had stayed longer but can’t wait to go back some day!

Review: Beautiful rooms, really enjoyed the bathtub. Booked a room with "mountain view" but it was covered by banana trees. They moved us with no problem. Food pretty good, although the orange duck was terrible. Friendly staff, amazing views. No TVs so you are forced to relax. Had to ask them to put blanket inside the duvet cover.

Suggestions: Clean the pools more often, add hooks to the walls, shave the doors so they close. Get an espresso machine for Arabica Americanos. Coffee mugs not glasses. Don't cut fruit and onions with same knife and cutting board, or the tea tastes bad. Add lounge chairs to the pool.

Positive points: The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. Excellent views of the mountains and rice fields from the bedroom and the gardens were gorgeous. Good location in the heart of the Kho Muong area. Bikes are definitely needed to explore further sights of Pu Luong and can be rented from the hotel. The food in the restaurant was good when we got it. Most of the staff were very kind and helpful.

Review: - Nhìn ảnh tưởng rộng nhưng thực ra nằm dưới 1 dốc sâu và không có sân. Chỉ có đường đi vào và 1 bể bơi.
- Không gian nhiều cây.
- Phòng không đủ tiện nghi so với giá tiền. Cửa khe quá to nên nhiều côn trùng vào phòng, đã phải giết tổng cộng 5 con côn trùng các loại, cỡ to.
- Vòi sen khó dùng, mình bị nóng quá chẳng may làm rơi bị gẫy khớp giữa dây và vòi , và phải đền 1.5 triệu. Thấy nhân viên bảo trc đó cũng có người bị tương tự và phải đền hơn 2 triệu.
- Đồ ăn bình thường.
- Sữa chua ăn sáng hết hạn sử dụng (đã báo với nhân viên)
- Sáng sớm nhân viên gõ cửa bảo lái xe để cho khách khác ra, trong khi trc khi đỗ đã hỏi trước vị trí đỗ cố định rồi.

Tóm lại: Trải nghiệm tệ so với giá tiền

Positive points: Staff are so friendly and helpful. Everything is nice, the view from bungalows is unreal the rice fields terraces, nice pools and food. The facility is clean and very well maintained. All bungalow had a balcony with an amazing view
We booked a package with them, and they arrange transfers from Hanoi and to Ninh Binh.
Many things to do outside the hotel if you want to walk around the rice fields. The area has very few tourists and is calm and quiet.

Review: The hotel and staff are top notch. Location of the hotel is a wonderful view of the valley with rice terraces gardens and the mountains in the background. Staff was very active in making sure our stay was a great one. Will definitely go back in the future.
