8.8 Simple but comfortable - Kat 14-03-2026

Review: We had a great stay with Ghim (my spelling is not doubt incorrect) and her family at Chau Doc Homestay. We enjoyed the communal meals and authentic homestay experience. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. I think we may have had the only A/C room (family room). Lots of nature right at your doorstep, and Ghim helped arrange tours and bus tickets for us . Highly recommended for a stay in Chau Doc.

8.8 Excellent - Anna 12-02-2026

Review: The place is nice, clean big bed, hot shower. If you wish to stay local with the family it’s a good option. They offer dinner for 100k, you can borrow bicycles if you want to go to nearby shop or so. Someone accidentally? throw away my coconut maybe thinking it was empty? Apparently it was the very last they have? And they only had water? There could be some little fruits in the fridge, or some basic menu for drinks? I think the guests would appreciate that.

10 Great homestay to experience local life. - Kari 04-01-2026

Positive points: This is a great homestay with a wonderful family. The dinner and breakfasts are a great addition to the stay. I really enjoyed being able to help cook dinner. The room was clean, great A/C, and wifi worked great. You can rent a bike for the day and the host will give you a map where to bike around. It was a great experience biking through the villages around there and observing everyday life.

Negative points: The location is not walkable from the main part of town and Grab is not available there. The host is happy to arrange a taxi for you as needed, but just know ahead of time that you will need a ride to or from town.

7.6 Good for one night experience with family - Le 26-10-2024

10 1 great place to explore - Ánh 03-05-2023

Review: Chau Doc homestay is a great place for you to relax and explore when coming to Chau Doc City, located in a quiet area, not far from the center of Chau Doc City, suitable for the whole family, traveling alone or in pairs. In addition, because it is a homestay, it certainly cannot be as comfortable as star accommodation but worth 10 points for the service provided, if you do not like to explore Chau Doc City, you can rest at a homestay. Ms. Diem will provide you with a full meal a day - local foods, you can ask the hostess Diem for everything you need when you come to Chau Doc. I greatly appreciate Ms. Diem's enthusiasm to support my family in regard to transport to the bus station on time. I love her and her homestay. Highly recommend it for your stay here.

7.7 Great homestay experience - Renee 24-11-2015

Review: First of all, remember that this is a homestay, not a hotel. As such, amenities were noticeable only by their absence, the rooster and his friends started crowing at 3.00 am, the toilet is across the open courtyard, etc. But the woman was fantastic and the dinner was delicious. One recommendation: don't try to find this on your own or with a motorcycle taxi. This homestay is organized by Mekong Tours, in the center of the town and very easy to find. So go there and they will take care of everything.

Positive points: The owner, the rice fields, the neighbors

7 Good homestay, nice people, just a little far - Brian 22-09-2014

Review: Great, quiet place to stay, with a nice Vietnamese family. The only down side was that it's about a 10 min motorbike ride from the city. As it is a remote location, you can't just walk to the street and flash down a moto driver. To make it more complicated the family speaks very little (no) English. They have some arrangement with a local travel and tour company to arrange rides, communicate with the guests, and make sure they are comfortable. So to get into town you have too arrange a driver to come get you through the them either in advance our if you have a phone you can call them. Out actually worked out that they work with the travel company as I was able to book several tours and my onward travel plans through them and they are very nice and helpful. One of the travel agents even walked me to the local phone shop to help me get set up with a SIM card. Very nice. Again, the distance isn't a huge deal and everything went just fine with me, but I think anyone who plans to stay here should know up front what they are getting into.

Positive points: Quiet location, friendly family, nice room
