Review: Stayed at the owl house. Fantastic open house, being one with nature and really healing. Great swing and hammock design for stargazing and nature-bathing. Staff were welcoming with polite attitude. Highly recommend this once in a lifetime experience!
Positive points: Nothing, maybe the front of house staff at a push.
Negative points: Do not be fooled by the heavily edited Instagram photos—Veluvana is nothing like what they advertise. The reality is shocking: it’s dirty, poorly maintained, and far from the private, remote retreat they claim it to be.nnThe hygiene is absolutely unacceptable. We both became seriously ill after staying here, requiring medical treatment, and the hotel took no responsibility whatsoever. When we asked about making a claim, they conveniently told us they had no insurance.nnOur experience was a nightmare. We had to leave in the middle of the night because of a leaking roof, electrical failures, and the most disgusting issue—animals defecating on the bed. Even after informing the staff, they refused to clean it properly. The entire area was filthy, the floor was wet and dangerously slippery, and the bedding was clearly unwashed.nnDespite all of this, they still charged us £500 and refused to refund the second night, even though we had no choice but to leave for our health and safety. They don’t care about their guests—only making excuses and taking your money.nnThis was hands down the most disgusting, poorly managed place we have ever stayed. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Veluvana!
Review: After multiple trips to Bali we wanted to do something different and away from the hustle of Bintang Alley, Same same but different markets and the traffic jams of Canngu. nSo we decided to look outside of the beach resorts away from a now overpriced and crowded Ubud (this is my opinion and review) which would force us to look for new and exciting things to do when not enjoying the truly amazing hospitality of some of the friendliest and attentive staff. These staff operates as part of a small team but their effort, smiles and attention to detail make you feel like you’re being helped by an army of helpers.nnSo we found ourselves with the opportunity to stay in Sideman (Sid ee mun) as a base camp to explore the east side of the island. And l have to say that l am so glad that we did. Small, hardly touched by large resorts, value for money (if booked early enough) and a fantastic opportunity to go off grid and enjoy the sights and sounds off nature in a a secluded, small resort (we stayed in 1 of 5 villas).nnThe accommodation is eco friendly made mostly of bamboo and gives you a true glimpse of nature as we witnessed Ghekos doing their thing, butterflies dancing in the skies and the sou d of wildlife throughoutnnOur Villa had a private garden, beautiful hot steaming outdoor shower and a bed that move effortlessly via remote control to give you even better views of Mt Agung. But if this is a quirk the hidden gem of paddle/plunge pool above the rice paddies complete with day bed and swing just kept giving extra ticks to Veluvana!!nnWalking distance to a few different eateries but vehicle is required for day to day activities if you can choose to leave the sublime surroundingsnnIf you feel like you wish to stop, unwind and take a holiday within a Bali holiday this is well worth looking in to. And the resort caters for different budgets and even has the option of a Villa that sleeps four.nnWould def go again and have already recommended to friends and colleagues 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Positive points: Everything. The staff was attentive with bags the moment we exited our grab. They informed us about the Villa and walked us through all it's features. They also gave us refreshing drinks. Food was always hot and was ordered through WhatsApp. The Octopus villa with the roof top pool was well worth the booking on its own. Very accommodating with breaktaking views. The staff made the experience perfect with their demeanor and attention. Truly felt welcomed.
Review: Worth to try
Positive points: Yes but a lot of animals and bugs all over, we love the nature but it was a little too much
Negative points: Too many bugssss
Review: Very pleased Hotel and nice roomnStaff friendly and helpful nGreat location and close to all service
Positive points: The design of the villa
Negative points: The villa was not clean and need to be repaired and and it has lots of bugs and mosquitoes also the barrier was damaged one time a dog entered the villa also the same time of our stay there was to much noise from the next villa which the workers are fixing it and I will share some photos of the place
Review: Me and my husband just enjoyed every second there. The view, the peace, extraordinary cobra 😍😍😍 we are in love with this place… The best in Bali ❤️
Positive points: The house the pool the view the staff and service. And photography sessions
Negative points: The noise from other guests having all the houses close to each other
Positive points: My stay at Veluvana in Sidemen was an unforgettable experience, with the breathtaking views and exceptional service being the highlights of my visit. The serene and picturesque setting made for a truly unique stay. Unfortunately, we missed the stunning Mt. Agung view due to clouds, which suggests that a two-night stay might be ideal for those who can handle the natural elements and want to ensure they experience the full beauty of the location.nnOverall, while my one-night stay was mostly comfortable, there are some aspects that need attention to truly justify the outstanding cost per night. Despite these issues, the view and service at Veluvana were remarkable, and with a few improvements, the experience could be perfect.
Negative points: I believe there are areas for improvement, particularly in the bathroom of the Cobra house. The shower would be much better if it were enclosed with bamboo to avoid the sanitary issues presented by the shower curtain. Similarly, the toilet suffers from the same problem with a dirty and mildew-ridden curtain that is unpleasant to face while sitting. Additionally, the step near the toilet is hidden by the curtain, which caused me to trip and fall upon exiting.nnWhen we had just checked in and were enjoying our private pool, we were asked to keep quiet for the neighbors who were sunbathing, which was a bit inconvenient.nnRegarding the bedding, everything smelled like mildew beyond naturally becoming damp from the open-air concept. Moreover, the turn-down service was incomplete we requested the mosquito nets to be set up while we went for a sunset dinner, but returned to find them still open.
Positive points: Iconic views and architecture. A must stay place at least 1 night while in Bali.
Negative points: Swimming pool floor should be made more smooth to prevent fall. nnLocation was 1.5 hour Eastwards drive from Ubud. 2+ hours from Nusa Dua
Positive points: Our stay was truly exceptional, filled with creativity and a sense of paradise. Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations, particularly the outstanding service provided by the wonderful staff. We decided to indulge in a romantic dinner, which not only came at a very reasonable price but was also served with utmost excellence. We are grateful for this memorable experience and are already looking forward to returning.
Negative points: .
Review: Enjoyed at one of the most unique stays in the world. Truly amazing stay in the middle of the nature
Positive points: Very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff provided us with Dan which worked perfectly
Negative points: Nothing we did not like about the property
Review: It’s amazing. Would come back for sure.
Positive points: I booked the scorpio house for 2 nights. The place was outstanding for taking pics but not for a good sleep. The design and structure is amazing. I've been in some bamboo houses before and this wins. The moving bed was a really nice idea.
Negative points: its all open with no air condition and the sleep time was not that much. A lot of frogs and lizards. It's a different experience. I kinda liked it but my wife didn't :) nSome room supplies are not there like a vanity kit or bathroom slippers. nThe pool is like 30cm deep! So its for show not swimming. nAlso the breakfast was not that much.
