Ngoc Mai Guesthouse

Review: Obvious backpacker choice in town. Basic rooms (the budget option only has a window into the staircase), friendly staff, great location in the city center, free water refills, can arrange motorbike rental for 150k/day. We'd stay there again.

Positive points: Nice friendly staff. Bed was thin but don't be fooled. It's very comfortable!! Also very clean rooms and good location. Cool old maps in reception area :)nRoom 9 was very quiet but lots of stairs. Nice cold AC.

Positive points: The location is at the city center which is extremely convenient to walk around the city at night (in my case), experience local food and exciting cafe shops. rnrnStaff is friendly and helpful with questions and offer help when we don't have chopsticks to use, haha.

Review: The guesthouse is 5 mins walk from the central market with lots of local eating options.nThe owners were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with sights and how to get there. They booked bus tickets and arranged everything I needed. It's a family run business and they really looked after their guests.nThe room is reasonable in size and very clean, comfortable bed and good wifi. There's no elevator but the price was extremely good value. I highly recommend this place and would stay again.

Review: We have stayed here twice when traveling to BMT. It’s a very simple and quiet location. Owners are very nice.

Review: The room was exactly what we needed for our stay in BMT. It was clean but not very big which was ok for us. The staff were nice. Our only word of warning is about booking things through them. We asked for some help in booking some things we wanted to do at yokdon national park. The son was friends with the director apparently. Long story short they wanted us to pay the guesthouse for our national park activity. It felt wrong so we didn't pay and when we turned up to the national park the prices were MUCH cheaper then they were trying to get us to pay. It was a real shame because we cut short the things we wanted to do because the prices were so steep. Turns out we could have done everything we wanted to. Next time I guess! I am not discouraging staying at the guesthouse, that was perfectly fine. But be careful when booking things with them and always be wary of upfront payments.

Review: I booked double room for 3 people although i came alone. The room was very small, the beds and pillows smell so bad. I got irritation the next morning. Never come back here.

Review: The accomodation was ok for the price. Beds are a little bit through. But the best thing in the guesthouse is the owner because he shows you how to get to the interesting areas on your own and for a cheap price. Also for Transportation to the next Destination he doesn't take Commission for.

Review: I did get my exercise going up 5 floors. nThe water wouldn't get hot even after the reccomended 5 minutes. Actually, the water wouldn't turn off either :)nnThe hotel bed was hard as a rock. One reviewer said the bed was comfortable. I guess some people prefer HARD beds. The Highland House is a much better option if you don't mind something out of the main city center.nnThis place is nice for the location.
