Positive points:
Nậm Lỳ Retreat is a truly beautiful place, managed by really friendly and helpful people. We stayed here for one night and continued on a 3-day hike through the Hoang Su Phi region afterwards, eating with locals and sleeping in real homestays.
Lee has organized everything perfectly from the beginning to the end, inlcuding the transports, the meals and stays as well as the local guide for the hike, who leads you to beautiful rice terraces, mountain landscapes and remote villages, all of that without meeting any other tourists.
It has been the most special days of our one-month vacation in Vietnam and I can highly recommend to come here for this very authentic experience!
Review: A great spot, with staff that went above and beyond. The dinner and breakfast were great. I recommend going for a walk to the water fall and a swim in the cold water. Nestled amongst the terraced rice hills...
Positive points: A very nice location in the middle of the rice fields. A bit hard to find, but the owner will help you with everything. Although not present he send us all the information and also some hiking directions.
Positive points:
We had the most amazing stay at Nam Ly - one of our highlights of Vietnam. Nam Ly is surrounded by panoramic views of rice fields - the most spectacular scenery we have seen in Vietnam.
We took a trek one day with a local guide who knew the best routes and we learned about the Black Dao ethnic minority and their culture.
It was also great to just relax on a hammock with views of the rice fields in the sun, and enjoy great food at the homestay (they cater well for vegetarians).
Mr Lee, the owner, couldn’t have been more helpful - he organised our travel from Ha Giang and back to Hanoi and answered all sorts of questions. He was very responsive and always looking to support - the best host you could imagine.
Positive points: We had a wonderful experience at Nam Ly. The place is incredibly beautiful, with many waterfalls, terraced rice fields and traditional wood houses. It’s totally off the beaten track so it takes some time to reach, but it’s totally worth it. The hosts are very welcoming and they will help you all the way: booking a bus or a motorbike, trekking in the rice fields, giving advices about the Hoang Su Phi area… honestly I doubt we could have come here without the help of Mr Dong.

Positive points:
Wonderful location, overlooking the rice fields, it's very beautiful. You can do several hikes on your own in the beautiful surroundings. The view is amazing.
Very friendly owner and staff. The owner gave us good directions to get to the place.
Positive points: Nice location on outskirts of village. Great authentic room with senic view. Delicious food.
Positive points:
Great location, in the paddles, very remoted and easy to access to nearby hills, waterfall and very beautiful sunset.
Hong gave us great advices for our next stop. She is a cool manager.
Food was tasty & super beautiful view.
The road to get down to the homestay was very steep. A hard challenge but fun.
Negative points:
We were lost because we followed google map. Important to travel to Ban Luoc then find the way to Nam Ly Retreat instead of blindlyfollow google map like we did
The other guests were very noisy and didn't consider that there were no sound proof there.
Positive points:
I loved that the home is situated within the beautiful rice fields. We took a morning walk to the waterfall and we came across beautiful waterfalls, saw locals taking care of their rice fields, ducks swimming around, etc.
It is a bit difficult to get to due to steep narrow hills but if you’re comfortable driving in that - it’s worth it!
The sisters running the homestay were lovely too!
Positive points: the view is good, the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, there is a waterfall nearby
Negative points: the bathroom was dirty, there would be cobwebs and bugs in the room. the town is very small you can't buy much there. breakfast : instant soup was to expensive, dinner was cold
