Positive points: I loved the stay with the family, they were incredibly inviting, friendly and informative. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The food is excellent and the views/surroundings are the best we've had in Vietnam.
Positive points: The supper and breakfast that the owner cooked up were excellent. She sat down and chatted with us at supper and our guide translated. It was a delightful experience
Positive points: Although we were there on a cloudy rainy day, the view would be amazing. We were here on 14 October, and rice harvest had finished. Would be spectacular with golden rice fields. Lovely hike down the hill through jungle to the village and back up the road. Back by 10.30 so were able to shower and change after and have lunch before we left. We ate dinner, breakfast and lunch there. All were REALLY good. The villas are spacious, clean and comfortable and have a little balcony outside. Owners very friendly and lovely (no English spoken FYI)
Negative points:
The drive. We have a very good driver. We arrived quite late, it was foggy and getting dark.
The roads through HSP are very windy, some unmade roads, some tight bends but the road to this lodge was very steep and bigger bends. Just be aware. You pass quite a few homestays before this and wonder if you've passed it, it's that far! But it is worth it. Just try to get there before dark and remember it's about 30 mins more past the other homestays.
Review: The view is awesome! The room was well maintained and clean. The family running this homestay was very friendly, helpful, attentive to our needs and made us feel very welcomed. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Positive points:
We had an amazing time with Quan and his family. The road to get there is a bit bumpy but they organize everything and it was way easier than to come on a bike ! Also we recommend coming during the day for the same reasons.
You may want to download a translator if you want to be able to enjoy long talks with the family. Everyone was wonderful and Mua (Quan’s wife and Phi, his niece, took a long walk with us through the beautiful scenery) and the next day Quan took us to the market and we walked back to his sister’s house for a great lunch and at night we ate a fabulous diner and played card games and drunk a lot of rice wine. An incredible experience all around learning about the red Dao culture and being fully immersed in an incredibly breathtaking landscape and a very nice family :) truly a high point of our trip ! The rooms are very clean and bug-free and the view from the balcony is crazy !
Review: Amazing view especially sunrise with the sea of clouds. They just opened in Jul 2023. Have a meal with the family, they'll serve you home made rice wine. Bring liquor from home to share with them, they'll appreciate it! Communication was through Google translate/ conversation but we still had a good time. Come during Sep/Oct just before the rice harvesting season, you'll be blessed with fields of gold.
Positive points: The whole experience was amazing, genuine and authentic. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. They took us on a beautiful hike to see the rice fields which lasted around two hours. When you stay there, you pay extra for the meals but they are very tasty and delicious, as was their tea, so it's worth It. The bungalow was very cozy and the view is great.
Negative points: It takes a bit too long to get there if you're in Hanoi like we were. It should be said in advance in order to organize the transportation properly, especially during rain season, when It's impossible to get there without a motorbike.
Review: Chủ home nhiệt tình, thân thiện, vị trí săn mây đẹp
Positive points:
Unique setting on the edge of an authentic village overlooking beautiful mountains. The village is still authentic, not overrun by large groups of partying foreign kids on motorcycles.
The host family was very welcoming and we were made to feel part of the family.
The rooms were small but comfortable and with a nice design.
The bathroom is basic but functional. The overall experience is wonderful, being part of village life waking up to the sounds of the animals in the village waking up early in the morning
Negative points: The sink was not yet connected
Positive points:
The most beautiful view from the room I have ever seen
Super friendly host
Positive points: The view was stunning. Also, the family's hospitality is remarkable: we were able to feel the traditional lifestyle of the local people. There is an option to participate in a fire festival, which is a real ceremony and is truly immersive - something you would like to add to the list of your life experience.
Negative points: It's a bit cold in the wintertime in the mountains overall, but the thick blankets compensate for that. Luckily, Mr. Quinh is always around to treat the guests with warm tea.
Positive points: We loved this place. The family is so kind and the dinner we had was absolute delicious. Highly recommended.
Positive points: The stay was superb! We came in very late but the host immediately asked if we already had dinner, when we said no a very nice meal was prepared. And this all when we didn't even spoke the same language, very much recommended!
