Hotel Tugu Malang

Review: What a classy hotel. Staff or kind, engaging and so willing to help with anything. From the moment of our arrival, John extended his assistance for us to address any needs. We sent a ton of laundry and it was always ready as needed, even before! The restaurant was amazing from breakfast to dinner to room service! We had an issue with an elderly member of our party as they had given us rooms on the second floor (no elevators here). Immediately, John found two rooms on the first floor. What a relief. Ranta, our host at breakfast was so joyful. Wanwan, our evening host was beyond kind. He brought us coffee one evening after we returned late from an excursion. I also got sick and staff brought me some toast to help ease my tummy. If we could, I’d stay here for every vacation. Thank you for this incredible visit.

Positive points: Old world feel. Everyone there was friendly, courteous and helpful. The food was uniformly excellent and the art work was captivating.

Review: Nothing negative to say. It was perfect in every aspect. Specially the historical and antique section in the back of the building was fenominal. I did not believe my eyes. Strongly recomended!

Review: It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel which turned out to be a multi-level experience with a lot of very pleasant surprises. The entire building is something that can be explored and I really appreciated the various special attentions in terms of food, drinks or amenities. Review: We came back to Indonesia for my mom's 75th birthday and wanted something special for her. Hotel Tugu did not disappoint! Firstly, the staff are amazing and make you feel at home instantly while providing excellent service. Secondly, they surprised my mom in a few ways that made her feel very special. Thirdly, the hotel is a beautiful and endless museum! We almost got lost 😂 Definitely recommend getting a tour. And finally, the food is amazing! Highly highly recommend this hotel. We'll definitely be checking out their other branches should we go to those locations. Thank you, Hotel Tugu!

Positive points: We spent 3 nights at Tugu Malang in January 2025 and found it to be the perfect base for visiting Mt Bromo and it was within walking distance to the Chinese temple and local flower markets. They served a complimentary afternoon tea each day with various local treats and a range of herbal teas which were delicious - most of the treats came from the neighbouring bakery that is also worth a visit. We liked the furnishings in our room and the toiletries were top notch. They provided fresh fruit in our room on a daily basis and we had fresh flowers which were a lovely touch. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel contains a treasure trove of artworks and antiques and well worth an exploration. We loved our meals at the hotel restaurants, especially SaigonSan. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Review: Had a wonderful two nights in Tugu. Staffs were very attentive and kind. We had the free afternoon teas and nibbles. We also had the free massages and tour for all the antiquities in the hotel.
