Review: This Homestay offers you the opportunity to stay with a Vietnamese family and live in the simple way they do. Its location close to the centre is great and although they don't speak English, like most people on Con Dao, they were very sweet with us.
Positive points:
i was there in low season in the beginning of Dezember what was good because the demand for rooms was very low and so the price for the room very ok
the comunication with the place via the booking app was ok ... i do not know if they use a translation tool or another person does the communication for them ... because the two people that where there do not really speak english at least ... but the communication via booking app was more then ok to organice the room and also to extend the room one more night
Negative points:
when i arrived the place --- i entered two of the rooms for rent there ...
in both rooms i smelled the sewage system in the room but first did not know where the smell comes from
i added two pictures concerning to this
one picture is from the toilet room where you can see that the pipe under the wash bassin goes nearly straight down to the wall hole where it is connected to
it can be seen that this flexible pipe goes down straight without any P-Trap inbetween ... and exactly that ist the problem why you smell the sewage system there and in the room
a bend in the p-trap collects water in the curve, creating a 1-½-inch to 2-inch water seal at the weir, preventing sewer gasses and odor from entering the home
so i suggest to the owner to install a P-Trap under the bassin correctly as then the proplem with smell in the room from the sewage system is solved ... very simple at least and nearly zero VND solution
Review: First time traveling to Con Dao but felt like home, friendly staff who provided lots of help. Will definitely come back again.

We really enjoyed our time here. The family were lovely and made us feel very welcome. The mum was very attentive and always around should we need any help. We used Google translate a lot which was handy for communication! She made us coffee every morning and even cooked for us when we enquired if it was possible. She was so sweet when she found out we were vegetarian she asked what sort of food we liked and when we listed some foods, she ended up cooking them all! She also gave us fruits to take to the beach.
We stayed for a week and felt very relaxed there, so much that we didn't want to leave! Throughout the week the family made us feel welcome, we sat with the kids and drank iced tea, and one day the woman's nephew took us to a festival at the pagoda on his motorbike.
This accommodation was good value for money compared to other places in CD, the food and service was great and the family were perfect hosts - I would recommend to any1 wanting a relaxed place to stay in Con Dao
Positive points: Quiet street. Nice hosts, lovely dog and clean rooms! Nice restaurant area for remote working. Didn't try the food. Walking distance to marked and restaurants
Negative points: The mattress was way too thin and hard, it was like sleeping on the ground.a

Positive points: We had a lovely stay in this homestay. We felt very welcome since our arrival by the very nice lady and her family. Our room was big enough, clean and comfortable. The dining room on the first floor is perfect to be between friends. We definitely recommend this place to stay on the island!

Positive points: The room is cheap and comfortable. The family is very nice. It's also clean.
Negative points: You don't get drinking water for free. But for the price the Homestay is good.

Positive points: Good location on con dao close to everything you need and within walking distance to main beach. Overall it was a pretty good stay over 9 days. Trying to wind down after a trip full of ups and downs. Quite isolating In the shoulder season as a solo traveler but I needed some space out of hostels.
Negative points: Don't expect anything too deluxe. No water pressure, fairly basic room. Contarary to past reviews I found the lady owner quite rude and stand-offish most of the time. I'm not sure if it was the language barrier, but any simple question I asked over translater, very occasionally. Was made out to be a big ordeal for her. And throughout the stay I ended up feeling like a burden in their homestay due to her approach to me. Would not return. Maybe okay for a night or two or if you speak vietnamese. I am not one to leave bad reviews but I was disappointed by lack of hospitality and rude attitude at times.

Friendly owner, no English but Google translate. She did laundry for us at good price and gives great price for motorbike hire.
Super location to walk/bike anywhere. Short walk from pier.
If you stay here make sure you go to the bakery a 1 min walk away (An Oi) - staff here are SO kind (speak great English) and will give advice on literally anything during your stay. Plus the food and drinks are incredible.
Negative points: Bed was hard. If there's other noisy guests it's a real disturbance. Noise travels into room easily so family and children next door were waking us early/keeping us up.
