Golden Forest Villa

Negative points: The place is smaller than the pictures. The bathroom is not going style as the room itself, it needs more cleaning and renovation.
Because the place near a lake so it has a lot of mosquitos which I was aware of. I saw there was a nest above the bed. However it wasn’t clean and full of dust so we didn’t want to use it.

Negative points: Nothing much

Negative points: We were a bit surprised when we saw our villa. There are 3 houses available. We took the pool view villa which is not a 'close' villa like the 2 others. Indeed it is more like a corridor with 2 rooms and a kitchen in between. Meaning that the rooms connect with outside with a direct access to the swimming pool. This is ok for adults but quite challenging with small children as they have direct access to the pool if they go out of their room by themselves.
The 2 other villas have main doors so much more suitable with kids.

The breakfast was good however quite different from what is announced on the menu.

I would have loved a bit more comfort on the outside furnitures. Furnitures in wood are nice but not very comfy.
And I would recommend the owner to fix the lights in the swimming pool because they are currently floating with visible cables in the water.

Negative points: Perhaps a daily insect spray of the rooms

Negative points: Firstly the accommodation was advertised as a 5 star resort but it was extremely misleading. It was a 2-3 star house that had 3 villas that were extremely close to one another. The photos in the advertisement made the property, villas and pool look a lot bigger than they really were. It was extremely noisy at night due to midnight parties/karaoke. There was no reception desk and or assistance in regards to nearby attractions, unlike an Air BnB, there would have been some brochures of must see places etc.

There was no house keeping, and it felt like it was a bother when asking for the minimal amenities.

It was also an hour walk to the Old town and beach if you didn't want to catch a taxi.

Negative points: The listing wasn’t 100% accurate which should be fixed. We booked a garden view room that has an sofabed in the living room (shown on booking.com platform) but when we arrived, there wasn’t any sofabed there (a wooden bench instead) so had to speak to the manager to arrange one. Shower didn’t work the first night, called the manager and got it fixed the next day but then it stopped working again the next day which was quite inconvenient. I guess it’s an ongoing problem so it should be fixed permanently to ensure a smooth stay for guests. My husband got food poisoning after the first breakfast (running omelette) there and had been very unwell during the whole duration of the stay there so our visit to Hoian was ruined completely which was sad but the hotel didn’t offer any compensation. The staff were caring and trying to be helpful though, asked everyday how he felt and tried to accommodate us. Breakfast wasn’t made on-site but purchased from local breakfast kiosk, very average and limited choices.
