Review: Used to be my first to whenever I came HCM City for business. But it’s a bit rundown - the centralized aircon is not functioning well, and the room hot during day time, I can’t stay in the room to work. And they also offer airport shuttle for those who booked directly with them. They helped me to get a taxi, but the driver is not honest, reluctant to follow meter.

Positive points: I really liked the services of this hotel. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful. We encountered a misunderstanding at our next resort, and the staff resolved it by using their personal phones to contact them. It was very nice that the staff can communicate fluently in English. The breakfast was delicious. Being close to the airport made it easy for us to rest quickly and catch our next flight. It also offers a free airport pick-up service. If I ever need to stay near the airport in Ho Chi Minh City again, I will definitely return.

Review: There are waaaay better options in almost similar prices( 10$-20$ difference). Not that first hotel is bad, it’s fine if you have nowhere else to stay. Other than that, the only plus point is it’s near to the airport, which is of no use due to grab etc. Go stay in the district 5, the price range is the sweet spot between crazy expensive district 1 and others. Review: Let's start from the airport.

We reached the airport. Our greeter was there, but the shuttle came after 30 min, which left a bad impression.

Furthermore, we checked in room no. 306. It was very hot inside we thought that after turning on the AC, it would be all good, but unfortunately, the AC was not working. We had to change the room, and they shifted us to room no. 106 after a few hours.

Lastly, there is a language barrier. Most of the staff don't understand English. One morning we went for breakfast in their different building. Our luggage was all around, but they made up our room without our permission.

Therefore, please keep in mind all the points I mentioned here before choosing First Hotel.

Positive points: I liked the close proximity to the airport (we booked this hotel because we had a super late flight with our kids and didn’t want to have to drive into the city, instead staying our first night near the airport.

The staff, although didn’t speak great English, were helpful

They offered us a complimentary pick up from the airport which was lovely, and a great surprise.

Review: Breakfast was good. No shelter at front door so was inconvenient to align under rain, although the security guards did help with umbrella.

Positive points: We used this place as a one night stop from flying in from Australia and then flying out the next day to Da Nang. They picked us up and dropped us up from airport for free which was super easy and helpful.

The room was a good side for an overnight stay.
We had a 3 and 5 year old with us and so we made use of the pool before flying out, and there is an indoor playground across the road for them to burn off energy after a long flight.

Breakfast had a good selection.
