Review: Even though I booked the cruise since late last year, three days before I was informed that there was unscheduled maintenance on the Emeraude and was offered to be transferred to another boat/cruise.
It is smaller, the ambiance was not as great as Emeraude. Please beware of this last minute changes. It may not be good value for money in the end. Next time I will find other Cruise in Ha Long Bay.

Appreciated that they kept us a distance from tour groups in the restaurant so that we had a quieter table. The buffet meals were quite nice, a variety and plentiful. Drinks were comparable prices with dining in city restaurants, but the happy-hour prices were great.
This is not a party boat, which was great for us.
Movie screened was Indochina (French with English sub-titles). At our request they screened a different movie - Kong Skull Island - on the second night.
The day-boat that we were transferred to on day 2 also provided great helpful and friendly services.
It was an enjoyable cruise with memories to cherish.

Review: Staff abroad were very helpful and accommodating. They made sure to inform us of all activities to make sure that we did not miss them. Rooms were basic and clean. Activities were well organised. I recommend arranging for their bus transport from Hanoi to Halong, it made things to much more convenient.

Review: This was our second trip on the Emeraude, this time taking 2 other couples. Our last trip was in 2015 and boy is there a change in Halong Bay. The boat was the same as we remembered but what was disappointing this time was that the navigation differed slightly even though we went at the same time of year. I feel that we stopped overnight at a disappointing location where we could still see the city of Halong. As there are 20 fold amount of boats compared to last time I'm sure they could do different stops than every other boat, especially where they anchor for overnight.
The Emeraude itself is a wonderful boat however, the rooms are lovely yet small, and air conditioned. We love this boat as it was not too big or too many people on it. Go now to Halong Bay before it is too commercialised.
