Chose this Hotel because it’s one of the inexpensive ones around the area, near to affordable restos and just a short walking distance to a bus station. As for amenities, they provide only 1 water bottle, coffee and heater, 2 oral hygiene kits, and a “hair and body lotion” dispenser which I didn’t bother to use since I feel the container is not cleaned thoroughly. Was happy they have hair dryer and can request from the staff a flat iron and ironing board. Only rated it 3 stars because we saw multiple roaches in the room (on the bed and toilet) and also the airconditioner was very dusty and not cleaned at all, most especially under the bed. If you have fear of bugs and have allergic rhinitis, this hotel is not for you. But for a short time stay, I guess it’s doable and you get what you paid for.

Near bus stop going to tourist attractions/hawkers/mini groceries/Value$/ shengshiong

10-12 mins walk from kallang/aljunied MRT but its okay, it is near bus stop going to the attractions. Please google.

Staffs/maintenance are accomodating

Rooms are spacious for two. No fridge as its my fault because I did not read the description. but its fine. I thought all rooms are equipped with fridge.

Provided with shampoo/body soap, tooth brush. Coffee and water. No slippers

My only suggestion will be the airconditioning, Kindly clean as we saw dust its very visible because of swing are broken/missing already, back of tv with dust also.

Overall, Hotel 81 Joy offers a basic accommodation option that is suitable for short stays if you are not too particular about luxury or modern amenities.

We stayed here in between our tours so we were basically here just to sleep. Kallang Station is closest, and walking under the trees was a relief from the sun. We were also able to walk to Aljunied Station through a myriad of hardware shops, but that was ambitious and not something we recommend tourists like us do on a daily basis. Peya Lebar, just two stations away is great for foreign exchange (JC Global) and shopping for cheap commodities.

The staff was very kind and accommodating. The place was clean.

Pay almost 200 sing for this place is very pricy because of F1 event . Not a great place for shopping .. very clean but the TV posisi di the left side of my bed is something strange
