10.0 The pure Vietnamese beach life (for the western traveller) - Lorenz 28-03-2026

Review: Absolutely amazing place and by far the best value for your money. You can basically live on the beach for a few days, have all amenities and enjoy fresh seafood in a weekly tabletop BBQ and just generally good value food and drinks. Rooms are nice and spacious with just a few meters to the beach.

Positive points: Location is huge factor for here. But staff, accommodation, interaction, food choice, the list goes on.

Negative points: The only down side is you can’t get grabs from the property however you can book taxis. But you never want to leave anyway.

Review: Ok, it's a nice hostel with activities etc, great place meet others share experience. Family style dinner for me as an vegetarian don't think was great value, but for others seemed good . Nice to sit with most of the people at the hostel share a meal good way to have the old human interaction not just a cellphone 😂.nDorms nice bathroom plenty, lots common space.. over all good.nOk the flip side as I came by bicycle was not over thrilled with parking even though there was a night watchman. It's outside the main hostel area by the road. Privacy curtains, most hung towels etc. price for Vietnam ok.. food prices ok, drinks bit ? But a happy hour+!nOverall setup is good not near city, so scooter or bus only when you know how to book the drop in advance.nBike along one off the main routes up & down..nI will definitely go back..! When passing that way .

Positive points: The location and the atmosphere are great.

Negative points: It is located in a prime location facing the sea. I did not expect the sea to be the source of noise to tamper my rest. At night the fishermen turn on diesel generators at sea to power up some light for their traps. It is very noise, mainly in a tent. It was very hard for me to rest. This is something to be aware off, not in control of the hostel.

Positive points: Everything. On the sea, lovely people, amazing local beaches 10 minutes walk away. Not inside the town bustle, for a perfect time to relax. The staff in the evening had us all playing games and were super nice and fun

Negative points: Because it’s remote you have to eat there. It’s hard to catch a grab there, so make sure you book your taxi enough time ahead if you have a bus or train to catch. It was MADLY expensive because of Tet holiday, the most i’ve payed for a taxi in Vietnam, 600,000 for a 30 minute ride to the train station. I thought an hour and a half would be enough time to take spare, but the taxi took 40 minutes to arrive (instead of 20 as they said) and I jumped on my train at the actual last minute possible. Stressful, better to book much in advance and know it will be expensive

Positive points: Really cute bungalow, friendly staff, excellent group dinner. Complimentary beer on arrival after a very long drive

Negative points: It’s a little difficult to find and quite a bit out of town with no stores nearby but they serve food and drink staff was very helpful in helping me get there. No bathrooms in rooms have to walk to communal toilets but that was fine

Positive points: No cash until checkout and a very good way to keep track of everything and have you sign each time. Very clean. Family dinners. Games. Social if you wanted to be social. Good food, what I had, and fair prices. Great helpful staff.

Negative points: Because it is windy season, I was disappointed that I didn’t have a sandy beach right there but that has nothing to do with the hostel. Just me assuming there would be sand like one of the pics.

Positive points: Loved everything about it. The location, the vibe, the history, Steve and staff, their responsiveness, their willingness to help, small family feel, the decorations, the music, the fun, the values and philosophy. They kept the restaurant open to make sure we got dinner due to our very delayed arrival time. Thank you, Steve and Gavin, for keeping this place alive. Hope to be back.

Negative points: Only that we couldn’t stay longer!

Positive points: This is one of those special destination hostels that you can tell the owners and staff have put their heart into designing an amazing experience. It’s a stunning location on a private beach, so I just relaxed there for three days, though there is a lot to explore in the area which the staff can help coordinate. The restaurant has good food and the family dinner is a special way to meet other travelers. The staff were exceptionally friendly and it’s just good vibes overall.
