i had an overnight stay here during the 2/9 long weekend holiday. i booked it as i thought it's near the beach just few minutes walk based on Google map. yes, it's near but personally, i can't swim with fishing boats around. smell isn't inviting too. therefore, i cannot recommend its location. the staff is not foreigner friendly. they don't speak English and even though i can speak a little Vietnamese, they seldom talk to me. The receptionist or perhaps, he's the owner, even asked me to check out earlier, so rude..
on a positive note, the room is well-kept and cleaned. bed, toilet, table and chairs are clean. however, toilet paper isn't replaced and still old. refrigerator smells so bad too.
won't be returning to Van Don anytime soon. better stay in Ha Long or just do a day trip. nothing to do here specially at night.

The hotel is located near Van Don port, a very easy-to-find location. The hotel is clean, and the customer service is excellent. The prices are reasonable during the 2022 tourist season. In front of the hotel, there is a very good breakfast restaurant, and there are many services for tourists around the hotel.
The hotel owner is very enthusiastic and dedicated to the customers. I asked about the schedule for the speedboat to Quan Lan Island, and the owner, Mr. Lưu, helped me inquire with many boat companies so that I could choose the best time for my family.
Thank you very much to Mr. and Mrs. Lưu, the owners of Hải Lưu hotel. If I travel to Van Don again next time, my family and I will choose Hải Lưu hotel.
Review: The family-style hotel is clean and spacious. The soundproofing is not very good, so children running and playing in the hallway can be noisy. Right at the hotel's entrance is a good breakfast eatery at night there is a seafood buffet and hot pot that is passable. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the port. The hotel owners are friendly, enthusiastic, cheerful, and pleasant. The restroom is clean.

Review: Đỗ xe thoải mái, sạch sẽ, đồ đạc khá mới. Giống như nhiều khách sạn khác thì cách bãi tắm khoảng 3km. Ông chủ thân thiện. Xung quanh có một số quán ăn tốt, hát karaoke, uống cà phê tiện lợi.
