Positive points:
Very simple but clean place. The family is very nice. The food is simple but very good. They’re always happy to sort out things for you ( motorbikes, travelling back to the port, stay longer than expected….) One can feel a little bite under pressure to eat at their’s. Don’t hesitate to say « no Thanks » and go your own way! They don’t mind in fact. They are just very concerned that « their tourists » are comfortable !
Their snorkelling place is certainly not the best, however it was very nice sailing there in the family ‘s coconut boat.
One more thing: the mattresses are closer to a wooden board. But we adapted very quickly, and even discovered hardest ones later!
Positive points: Verry nice people near to the beach and 7.5 km to an excellent view point for the sun set.i recommend this place
Positive points:
Quiet homestay. Lovely family. Possibility to rent a motorbike (a bit necessary if you visit Cham Island).
Delicious dinner and breakfast with amazing view! 🌊
Small restaurants + bars nearby.
Our host took us out for some snorkeling, which was really nice!
Positive points: Host met us and took us back to the ferry. Comfortable beds and good AC. Dinner on the beach was great with local seafood and chicken. Huge servings of fried rice. Proprietors were friendly, and efficient. Snorkel trip was amazing with a ride on a coconut boat.
Negative points: Bathroom could have been cleaner, minor stuff like sand on the bathroom floor.
Positive points:
Loved the stay on cham island. Wish we had extended. Great location, spent our days on the scooter discovering the lovely Island.
The son at the Homestay was really kind and tried his best making us understand what was happening. Lovely dinners. Nice to meet new people at the homestay.
Negative points: Very limited english. They over booked their rooms and we had to stay in a different Homestay (for 1 night). the Bathroom wasn't super clean. We would come back though!!!
Positive points: Loveliest family who takes care of you like you’re one of their own. They pick you up at the harbour. The food and coffee is delicious and you stay in great spacious rooms. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner by the beach and they offer to bring you on a snorkeling or fishing trip. Great place to stay at if you want to explore Cham Island!
Negative points: Bit of a language barrier, but that makes it fun.
Positive points: Lovely Family. Great Dinner!
Positive points: Simple but comfortable stay with good air conditioning. The family were helpful and the food they provided was lovely. Worth doing the snorkelling trip offered, we had a great morning at a secluded beach.
Negative points: On the final day we were asked to leave because our boat was coming early. We packed up and when leaving realised that this wasn’t true but that the next residents had arrived so they wanted us gone. We ended up being taken to the dock and left for over an hour in the midday heat with young children. It was a shame as it put a disappointing end on an otherwise lovely trip. Also there are no cars on the island and to get to the house you have to take a motorbike for 15 minutes across the island, beautiful but can get a bit steep at times. We had young children with us and no helmets were offered so the experience was a bit anxiety inducing. Though to be fair the kids loved it and in the end all was well.
Review: The family is lovely, and they really care about the experience. However, we were unlucky with our room and got a tiny room that could just fit a mattress — definitely not a Superior King Room as they described. We saw other rooms, and they looked much nicer than our little hole. Also, the bathroom was not clean and had plenty of stains on the shelf and sink. The food was ok we got rice, omelette veggies and meat (that was cold, probably because other guests started eating earlier) guests eat all together at the beach. The son is super helpful and lovely.
Positive points: Very friendly people, at the most scenic beach village. It's a family working and living together, verh beautiful to see
Negative points: No transparant about charges. Somethings went wrong with my booking and the bike rental but we found solutions for that, so I will leave jt in the past. They kept bird in small cage which I do not like for the birds
Review:
Lovely friendly family run homestay in quiet fishing village south of the island. Has rooftop veranda overlooking the little fishing bay and sea. They pick you up from ferry port but charged 100,000 for the both of us. Breakfast of Banh Mi & two fried eggs offered for breakfast every morning for 30,000. The evening meal is 80,000 per person but you get so much food and they cater for vegetarian diet. Two huge plates of fried rice & veg, a big plate of cooked vegetables, veg spring rolls, potato wedges. Also a whole fish one night and a gorgeous stuffed squid another as I eat fish. If you were to go into town and order this it would easily be double the cost, if not more. Also they bring it up to rooftop so you can eat and overlook the bay. They do pressure you a lot to buy all food, drink and beers from them. Tried going for breakfast in village last morning and the mum started literally shouting no no no at me and making a X with her arms!!! The son does snorkel trips in his little round coracle boat for 150,000 per person. His dog LeiLei comes with you too. If it is cloudy then don't bother as you won't see anything like our trip. Also hundreds of jellyfish, got stung about 20times. Very painfull and itchy for about 1hr after. After getting severly stung at the first location , the son does try other locations and jumps in
first to see if he gets stung before you go in. Still got stung a few more times and visibility rubbish as cloudy day. Room was tiny, just about fitted double bed in it with one ft gap down the side to get to the bathroom. On the second day they did offer a bigger room but toilet/shower was across the hallway. All in all, lovely family and homestay but pressure you into doing everything....breakfast, dinner, beers, coffee, bike rental, snorkeling through them and get offended when you don't. Also woken at 7am every morning with mum shouting loudly. Lovely island and would go back but think would stay in main ferry port town with more freedom of choice.
Positive points:
It was spacious and very clean. There was a rooftop terrace, which was really nice in the evening where we enjoyed delicious cocktails made by the son who had watched YouTube videos to understand how to do it. The family were very welcoming and met us at the harbour. We didn’t realise this at the time and so were slightly confused. To hire bikes you should be charged just 150k per day, so be sure to check this on arrival. The family also organised snorkelling for us - we travelled across in a coconut boat to the snorkel site which was great.
The family were always on hand.
Negative points: We didn’t realise that the family also provide a good service (extra charge) and we felt at times guilty for not buying meals from them.

beautiful location. friendly son.
it felt like the father was trying to overcharge us whenever possible.
we booked 3 rooms, but he tried to put us into two rooms.
when i pulled out my phone to show him, he immediately "remembered" without me having to actually show the booking confirmation.
Review: Famille très sympathique, aux petits soins. J'ai passé deux jours très agréables à me reposer, visiter l'île, les plages et à bien manger. Thu est une bonne cuisinière et les repas sont copieux. Je recommande.
Review: We first booked for two nights at Lau Thu Homestay, and it was so lovely that we ended up staying there for 6. The family was super welcoming, friendly and accomodating for everything we needed. The food prepared by Thu was delicious and snorkelling was definitely a highlight. Overall would recommend this Homestay to anyone looking the experience the magical Cham Island❤️

If you are looking for a serene secluded and quiet stay away from the hordes of tourists, and are willing to organise your own transport, this is your place to stay.
There are some beautiful empty and unspoilt beaches a few minutes ride away, or you can just chill on the village beach.
The family were warm and welcoming, and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable, though I don't speak any Vietnamese.
Mrs Lau kept me well fed with simple delicious fresh fish and seafood dishes. Mrs Lau also very kindly offered me a free lunch before I left.
The room was simple, comfortable and clean, with all the modern conveniences of air conditioning, great WiFi, and many sockets for devices.
I took a snorkeling tour in a traditional boat with the son, which was exciting and fun, though check first if it is jellyfish season! Trung also showed me to a 'secret' hidden beach off the main road. Trung's wife was able to organise the boat from Hoi An, and was able to answer any questions using the contact button on Google maps which was really helpful.
All in all, it was a lovely stay that I will cherish for a long time.
