Positive points: Bua was lovely, she even got us some fresh sugar cane from her garden. nHer homestay is lovely, and she has an amazing garden. I highly recommend for a night in Medan.
Positive points: This guesthouse was our very first stop in Indonesia on our way to Bukit Lawang – and we couldn’t have wished for a better welcome. The place is surrounded by lush greenery, has a peaceful and friendly vibe, and the owners are truly wonderful. They kindly picked us up from the airport late at night and even waited patiently after our flight was delayed. The food was absolutely delicious, they have a great natural mosquito repellent you can buy, our room has AC and their sweet dogs stole our hearts from the first moment. A beautiful place with beautiful people – thank you for making us feel welcome right away!
Positive points: The guesthouse is located in a quiet area with a nice garden and outside area to relax. nThe best however was the owner. She gave us great tips and helped us organize our further trip. She owns another guesthouse in Tangkahan where we went on a jungle trip to see the Orang Utan. She made us a good and absolutely fair deal to get there, stay there, do the jungle tour and get back to Medan. We had the time of our life there.
Positive points: Super friendly staff and very lovely, green, and open housing layout. Great facilities and nice amenities (drinking water, wifi, soap, toothbrush and paste, breakfast).
Negative points: Location is a bit on outskirts of city - makes the place quiet but does take a bit to get into the city. Not necessarily a negative depending on what you are looking for!
Review: Enjoyed my stay here lots of cute dogs, ginger tea was amazing and breakfast was spot on. Recommended.
Positive points: Best part about this place is the hospitality and the atmosphere, the hosts are wonderfully warm and hospitable. The atmosphere is so peaceful and beautiful. Lots of greens and plants around, lovely village like location. You will have a peace of mind here.
Negative points: Food quality could be a bit better. Aircond was not very cold.
Review: Only stayed one night at Bua Guest House and it was pleasant enough. The host family is friendly and accommodating. They speak good English and I got a ride with them from Medan to Lake Toba the next day and we had a lovely conversation all the way there.
Positive points: Very friendly people, nice little rooms with good showers and toilets. Breakfast options were tasty and there is a basic restaurant across the road. This is a great place for families all the way to backpackers who are after a good little local place to park yourselves while in Medan. We used it stop over for one night either side of heading into the jungle from the airport and it was perfect for this. They also will pick you up and drop you off from the airport for pretty much the same price as a standard taxi so this is a good option.
Negative points: There is nothing bad to say about this place. The only thing you should note is that is in the suburbs. You can walk 10mins to get to some small shops, but there is not a lot here for tourists. You will need a car/bike to get from to and from this hotel and anywhere else a tourist might want to go.rnA good tip we got was also to get the app Grab which is like Uber/Uber Eats to give you a way to get a taxi and also some food delivered to the hotel if you want something more than what the little restaurant across the road offers.
Review: The owner and her family are incredibly nice and helped us so much with many different things. For medan The accommodation is really quiet and has a nice green garden. Would always come back.
Positive points: Great room and owners were flexible to wait up for my really late flights
Negative points: Medan in general is a disappointing place, but nothing to do with the house

Positive points: The staff and owners are amazing! Such kind people. We really loved the energy here. The room is basic but comfortable. They helped us with transport and things to do. They also offer food for all meals, just ask for the menu! Thank you 😊
Negative points: There is a sewage smell from the bathroom but this is super common in SEA and did not bother us.
Positive points: The host was really nice and could speak English. I arrived late coming from bukit lawang and they waited for me which was really nice. A/c was nice.
Negative points: Because I arrived late, I was given the downstairs room at the outside area. Past midnight there was a cat meowing and scratching at the door loudly to be let in. Then in the morning all these bugs had tried to enter through the bottom of the door and ended up dying in my room. It was so disgusting I asked the staff to clean it up in the morning which they did. It was alarming to wake up to a floor full of bugs when the bed also sits on the floor. There was also a big cockroach in the bathroom when I arrived and the bedding was dirty. Also it's not very close to the airport maybe like 30-40min drive. The other guests staying upstairs didn't have bug issues so if you do stay here, request an upstairs room. The downstairs rooms should be retired, they are not fit for use.
Positive points: The staff is super nice and extremely helpful! All the green space really helps to relax
