Positive points: It was a beautiful and authentic bungalow type property with access to kitchen and very helpful owners.

The owners are super friendly and supportive. They gave us details of how to get from the airport to their address and a list of local foods to try.
When the problem of the room arose, they helped us to move room without issue.

Positive points: Loved our stay at boong house. The host was super friendly and helpful. It’s located in a beautiful valley surrounded by nature. The rustic buildings had a lot of charm and were extremely clean and comfortable. Also loved the kitchen which we could use freely

Review: The cute home owner has a friendly four-legged staff named Milo. The home has convenient and clean restrooms. There are many areas to chill and relax. The only downside is the lack of some utilities like hooks the home should provide a bit more of those. Other than that, everything is okay. It's worth experiencing.

Review: My first impression upon arriving at Boong was simplicity the wooden house design created a rustic, unassuming feel that matched the surrounding scenery. Our bus arrived earlier than expected, so we reached Boong around 4 AM, but the owner still answered the phone and the host assisted us with check-in. We asked to purchase two instant noodle packs because we were both hungry and tired the host happily obliged and even added two eggs as a bonus. The first meal of the day was indeed heartwarming, helping to alleviate my friend's car sickness and my empty stomach.

The room we checked into had one double bed, which was part of a larger room separated from a smaller one by a wooden partition. However, from what I could see, the owner constructed the wooden divider in the large wooden house to create two rooms. Since we checked in early in the morning, the host had not yet finished cleaning the room completely and there were no personal items in the bathroom for guests. The owner mentioned she would bring them in the morning. However, we waited a long time and no one came, luckily we had brought a towel and toothbrush with toothpaste. Near checkout, I inquired about personal items, and the owner finally responded. I think that whether it's a homestay or hotel, if it provides lodging services for guests, there should be no oversights like this. The host can have a checklist of personal items needed for each room before check-in to avoid such situations, as not everyone traveling carries personal items (toothbrush, toothpaste, towels, face cloth, etc.). According to the regulations, since we checked in earlier than allowed, we were charged an extra 50% of the room rate per night. However, I believe that since the host overlooked providing personal items, they should not impose the 50% extra charge as stated. Instead, when checking out, the owner quoted the price without missing a penny.

The biggest inconvenience and limitation of Boong House is the soundproofing between the rooms/houses/areas. As mentioned, my room was actually a small room partitioned from an initial larger room, easily noticeable from the design of the ceiling. The owner constructed a wooden divider, but the wooden frame of the roof is still shared between both small rooms moreover, the location of the wooden pillar in my room indicates that as well. Additionally, the positioning of the bed and bathroom/toilet of both rooms is arranged symmetrically and very close to each other, which means that even when whispering, you can still hear every word clearly, making it feel like living in the same house. I think Boong House aims for simplicity and rustic charm, but it must ensure privacy for guests, especially for couples. I noticed many others also reviewed this issue on Agoda regarding Boong House. Furthermore, the tiled roof of my room leaked, and a lot of dust fell onto the bed.

Boong offers a shared kitchen space and an outdoor BBQ area for guests, but upon my observation, there were items missing, including utensils and dish soap. If any guests/groups use the BBQ area, the other guests/rooms have no place to sit. Even when it rains, the seating area near the roof gets heavily splashed, making it impossible to sit or use the area. I think if Boong provides cooking services like this, they should ensure all supplies are fully available for the guests. In the case of the rainy season, there should also be plans/designs made to ensure guests can fully experience the service. In front of each house is a grassy yard Boong could design and place a long table and set up the BBQ area for guests, preventing the situation where every guest/room wants to hold a BBQ meal, but there's only one kitchen space.

Overall, I find that the service and experience at Boong do not warrant the price, and it feels somewhat overpriced. I will not return to Boong.
